No broadband for 8 days
I have just got my broadband/phoneline back working after 8 days . It was stated that Open Reach needed council permission to dig the road/footpath up so all this was taking extra time Although no general broadband outage was ever present .......so it sounded like a story ? I doubted they ever needed council permission for…

Since there were a few months until the end of my Virgin contract, I decided to wait, but as I checked, the price of Vodafone increases every month: February £30 March £35 April £45 May £46 What is going on? What is the…

TalkTalk upload speed on Fibre 65
My guaranteed upload speed is 6.22 Mbps but I can't get more than 5Mbps on any of my devices. Even when I only have one device connected and it is a wired connection directly into the router. TalkTalk tell me that I am getting an upload speed of 12.1Mbps. That seems to be a huge discrepancy and I don't understand why.

WiFi hotspots using 3G/4G
Hi Recently went to US and purchased a Lycamobile SIM OK for voice but struggled to get a decent data connection though which hampered using Google maps for navigation. Been looking at portable WiFi hotspots like the ones sold by GlocalMe. As a Tescomobile user we're about to lose roaming in the EU. The hotspots seem to…

Combined mobile and home broadband deals. £20 per month ?
Isn't it about time if it isn't happening already ? I don't know if it has but it should. I can buy unlimited mobile data and tether my pc and other devices. I can buy home broadband and connect my phone and the rest but can't go anywhere. So why don't I just get unlimited mobile and be done with it ? Because I then need…

Virgin Media opened an O2 account in my name without my consent or knowledge
I'm a VM Braodband only customer, and recently received a notifcation that my bill would be increasing by £8 a month from May. On Monday 17th, I called VM and said I'll like to see if they could do anything about the price. The advisor immediately said, yes, no problem and infact she could even bring the overall price down…

Contract Cancellation Eligibility Checker?
Wondered if anyone could perhaps help my family and I out? One of us recall seeing a tool that supposedly checked for you if you were able to end your broadband contract early if a certain criteria had been met, but couldn't remember the name for it. Where might we go to take advantage and hopefully benefit from such tool?…

How best to escalate delayed EE Broadband installation
Please, does anyone have advice on the most effective way to expidite a very long-running EE broadband installation? We walked into an EE shop in Feb 2020 and ordered a broadband line. This requires a phone cable to be strung from a nearby pole to our house, and a master socket fitted. The router was delivered months ago.…

Anyone come across this, a friend applied to switch to BT essentials as she qualified for it. Recommendation for Business Broadband with WiFi in every room
Would anyone recommend a (preferably business) broadband service provider which offers a descent kit to provide WiFi in all rooms and more importantly what kit they use so I can read up reviews and specs. An example postcode RG27 0FP and pick any door number. Its a residential build, 4-5 rooms over 3 floors mostly…

Vodafone Technical Issue Won’t Allow Me To Renew Contract
My home broadband price has increased by 50%. No-one can explain such a large and unexpected increase. I did not sign a contract with a reduced price followed by a larger payment at the end of a term. Generally I call up every two years to renew and my experience has been that the new price I pay is roughly the same if not…

Any Starlink Users?
I’m moving to a relatively rural area outside Reading in June. All of the broadband checkers/companies indicate a download speed range of between 30-50mbps. The area is planned to get a full fibre upgrade from Openreach in late 2026 (but more realistically 2027). I’m considering Starlink as an option - checker indicates…

Getting Plusnet to match their new offer after just signing up....
Joined PN last week but can now see they offer the same package for £3 cheaper a month......has anyone had any luck getting PN to change you over to a new going rate when it's changed after just ordering it? Virgin Media - any tips for negotiating price reduction?
Hi, my mother's bill has gone up and I want to negotiate a price reduction for her without her losing any of her current services. I spoke to them last month and their customer service operative was spectacularly unhelpful. In fact, he said that the only other option would cost more! My mother is 86 and not great at…

Vodafone broadband terrible service - They wont cancel the bill - how to complain?
Hi, I used to be with Vodafone broadband before I had to change to a different ISP due to their internet cutting out and rebooting the router litterly during every YouTube video for months all day every day. I feel that as the internet was unusable because of this - and it would take at least 5 minutes to come back up…
