Leaving Virgin media

Options
My Virgin media contract runs out on 2 May. If I give them notice on 2 April, are they obliged to continue until 2 May?
Should I switch to another provider now (and pay two companies for the next month), or wait till just before my Virgin contract is up? Thanks!

Your contract and service does not end on May 2, it just drops into a 30 day notice rolling window.

If you move away you give 30 days notice and then if you've paid for the following month (which is quite likely) you'll get a pro-rata refund.

So in other words to use a simple example if you pay £30 on the 1st of the month and you move away on the 15th you'd get a £15 refund.
