Mobile internet for house AND boat
Hi all! I’m looking for some advice on the best mobile internet setup that I can use both at home and on my boat. I’d ideally like unlimited data, decent speeds for streaming, Teams calls and working downloads etc, and the flexibility to move the router between two locations — basically, just pick it up and take it with…

Broadband renewal
My Sky Superfast broadband contract is about to expire. I'm happy with the speed I get and don't need Full fibre speeds. I'm not happy with the renewal price of £34 a month though. Can anyone recommend alternative providers? Ideally I would like to keep my landline, so I'm assuming I need a hybrid fibre contract? Thanks in…

Virgin Media charged me £938 early disconnection fee
Posting in case it helps others and to see if anyone has suggestions on what to do next. I was out of contract with Virgin Media, and our new bill was going up to £93 a month. On 22 May 2025, I called to ask about a better deal and said I was considering switching to a CityFibre provider. I was offered a new contract at…

Deco dropping
We have deco (not sure of the exact model) to provide better wifi coverage and parental controls. Sometimes the coverage just drops and we have no internet. I don't think it is the ISP as normally when we watch netflix on the TV - connected to the router it works fine. Any ideas?

Broadband for security doorbell
My Mum has recently passed away, and her property is now empty. I cancelled her tv and broadband package, but now realise that her doorbell will not show movement or visitors. Is there a really cheap way of monitoring this without spending £25 plus per month? Thanks

Sky wifi max
Does anyone know if a Wifi max router bought off eBay would work on Sky's basic FTTP deal. Looking to get a wifi 6 connection but no point spending an extra £4 pm if a £15 second hand box off ebay works fine. I assume the FTTP routers are like BT's and have a standard login/pass for all FTTP.

Big thumbs up for 3 5G broadband.
I've just signed up to 3 5G broadband via the moneysaving link at £19 pm 24 months. Gotta say this is the best BB I've ever had. Easy setup via the 3 app, from there you can access all the guts of the router without having to navigate to a webpage. I'm getting north of 350MPS even though it's advertised as 150. Within the…

Change New Sky Broadband Router SSID before FTTP connection?
I am getting Sky FTTP broadband next week and have had the router delivered. I will be changing the Sky SSID to what I have presently to save the hassle of changing all my devices and computers. Can I do it without the FTTP connection or should I wait until I actually have a working broadband connection?

I know that some of you won't agree - but I have been with TT since 2001 and have had no problems with them. But now have a potential issue.I have been told that TT do not offer phonelines on new full fibre unless there is a medical need and specific equipment is connected to it....Whilst I am disabled and regularly am in…

Virgin Media using bereavement as a gouging opportunity
I know how bad VM can be, as a customer that has to renegotiate my broadband every year. My father-in-law died a couple of weeks ago, and I advised my mother-in-law to call the VM bereavement line to discuss adopting the services and reducing the package, as what they were on was unaffordable to her given the loss of his…

Open reach
Anybody had there phone socket replaced by one of those plugs that require power? We now have one less plug we already have hive heating and a new router. We had fibre already so what’s the point of these new boxes other than they are annoying with flashing lights and power?

Mobile broadband in Maldon, Essex
I'm moving to a retirement flat in Maldon in a few days and the owner has said through the letting agent, that I can't install fibre if it makes permanent changes to the property. If he thinks a quarter of an inch hole counts as changing the property, I suppose mobile broadband will be my only option. I've looked at the…

Anybody get their Fibre from Toob?
Hi, just wondering if anyone on here gets their fibre broadband from Toob, and what their experience has been? Toob are in the process of expanding into my local area, and their costs seems massively lower than VM for potentially faster speeds, so naturally I am curious to see if they are any good. TIA

BT FTTP vs other ISP FTTP
Currently have FTTP 500mb with BT and have not had any problems, other than the renewal price. Spoke to retention and the offer they gave me isn't competitive to other ISPs (new customer). Thinking about switching FTTP to another supplier like SKY, but wondered what the connection will be like. I know with cheaper ADSL ISP…
