Switching Away From Virgin Media (or staying)
I have a package with Virgin Media which is currently coming to an end next month. 250MB broadband, most basic TV package (with TiVo box) and landline phone (which we never use and seems to only serve to receive scam phone calls a few times a day). Been with Virgin for years and every renewal I play the bargaining game to…

I'm ready to change from Virgin - Opinions on 'onestream' needed
I've seen mixed reviews on onestream, WHICH don't even have it as an option when looking at comparisons. Has anyone used it recently? We will be using it for catch up on our smart tv, Netflix and Amazon Prime films. Also our son works a couple of hours each day at home.

Vodafone broadband at new property.
Hi all. On 28th March we moved property, we only moved 400 meters but to a Bungalow. At our old property I had four months left on a full fibre broadband contract. I contacted Vodafone who made arrangements with Openreach. It was ten days without land line and internet before they connected us. When I contacted Vodafone…

TalkTalk billing after cease
This is a very frustrating one. A brief summary of the timeline* Contract end date: 15th March * 26th Feb: Initiated switch away to Sky. Completion date 12th March. Received an email from TalkTalk with cease date wrongly recorded as 26th Feb and estimating early termination charges. Followed this up and confirmed the…

Vodafone Broadband - A cautionary tale
When TalkTalk took over our broadband service from Shell in September 2024, they immediately doubled the cost, so I checked the MSE website and signed up with Vodafone. On paper, an excellent deal for full fibre. To cut to the chase, SIX AND A HALF months later, Vodafone have informed me that it is now going to be at least…

Broadband cable problem with trees
We have a Virgin bundle of broadband, TV and phone via an underground cable. I would like to save cost by dropping the TV and phone. We can get a good Freeview box for TV for a one off cost and the phone is rarely used by anyone but scammers. One option is to move to a new broadband supplier and I did place an order with…

Switch from Virgin to Sky
Just a heads up, My contract with Virginmedia (Broadband, phone and basic tv package) ended in December, as a consequence the price went up from £42 to £65 originally was £39. After some research I decided to switch to Sky similar package but next level up tv + Netflix and Discovery+, price is £39, so saving £26 a month.…

April Price Increase
I was paying £25 per month up to April and with a 6.4% increase expected it to rise to £26.60 however it has gone up to £28.84. When I queried this they said my actual bill was £60 with a £35 discount and the 6.4% is applied to the £60 and the £35 discount stays the same. They say that it is in the contract and so is…

Success with Renewal Hyperoptic
Just wanted to share a quick success story for anyone else negotiating their broadband renewal with Hyperoptic. I was coming to the end of my 12-month contract on their 50Mb package, paying £27/month. When it came to renewal, they offered me 50Mb at £29/month (a price increase), or 150Mb at the same £29 — but no real…

Sky Broadband, Community Fibre or another company - advice needed please
Hi, I need some
advice on which broadband service would be best for me please. I have just finished
my contract with Virgin Media and the bill has shot up to £72 p/m. It has been really
slow for months so I want to move to a faster, guaranteed speed. I’m a VIP customer
with Sky so they’ve offered me a 24 month contract for…

Non receipt of e-mails/late receipt of e-mails
Like many others I subscribe to the weekly MSE e-mail. Some weeks I do not get the e-mail at all, some weeks later in the week eg Friday. I checked with MSE that I am still subscribed and they said it's probably my e-mail provider and suggested my in box was too full. I have deleted almost all of past e-mail and yet still…

Broadband prices.
I currently pay £48 for FTTC and a phone line. Far far too much so decided to look around at prices. I’ve decided I just want broadband only and getting rid of the house phone. On my Sky app they say a Sky Vip price of £27 for full fibre 500. I phoned BT today and after a lot of faff, offering bt tv etc that I don’t want,…

Switching to Sky broadband from Plusnet.
I wonder if anyone can help. I am trying to switch from Plusnet to Sky to take up their offer which is on comparison sites of £22 a month. All is fine until I put in my Plusnet account details to which Sky say I have no landline with Plusnet.....but I do! I don't want to lose my number so I stopped the transfer and phoned…

Negotiating with Plusnet
My minimum term is just up with Plusnet. I cancelled down the contract after they offered a higher speed at a slightly higher price than I pay now for Full Fibre 74. Speed is not an issue but price is (the 74mbs is more than adequate). Plusnet are quite rigid in their offers but with my last contract I managed to get them…

OneStream need cancellation notice even though I’ve already switched
I’m trying to get OneStream to stop their direct debits,
having switched from them over 3 months ago. They say I need to reinstate the
DD (or they’ll charge £25) & give a month’s notice to cancel. On the many
occasions I’ve switched broadband before, I’ve never had to give notice to the
old company, they automatically…

Vodafone Broadband
Hi, we had Vodafone Broadband installed last week as the address search indicated that we could have the 910mb with a “guaranteed” 455mb speed. (Previously with Virgin on 250mb with no issues at all, so really looking forward to the increased speeds). After installation, the Engineers confirmed the cable to router was…

Is basically any ISP 100% reliable now?
(Besides Virgin obviously) They all use Openreach. If the internet goes down it's because Openreach went down. I am thinking of switching because Sky has got very expensive. Does BT/EE or Vodafone really make any difference to anything besides price?

speaking to a person possible?
Not sure if this is the correct place on the forum but here goes..... Does anyone know how to speak to an actual advisor at Sky instead of the useless virtual assistant? Thanks
