Moving broadband
We are moving home and our current broadband provider ( community fibre) does not cover our new area, they want to charge us an exit fee for early termination of contract. Should we have to pay this since it is them not us causing us to cancel the contract.

Hi,I wonder if anyone here can help with a problem I am having with my Linux Mint Huawei laptop. I am not an experienced or knowledgeable Linux user. Until yesterday morning I was having no problems connecting wirelessly to my Fritzbox router and using the Internet for browsing and email. However, since yesterday morning I…

Is MiFi the way to go?
A dear friend of mine has a normal Wi-Fi network with a hub, it’s costing her quite a bit per month, I could look at reducing the monthly cost, but I’m wondering if MiFi would be a cheaper option, I don’t really know a lot about MiFi, is it as secure as a normal network router thing? I don’t think speed matters too much…

Brsk price reduction
Joined brsk through a door sales agent, 500MB for 30 a month. It has just been 3 weeks and their website is saying 1000MB for 30 a month and also giving Amazon vouchers. Has anyone managed to call back and get the improved service and vouchers post contract signature?

One Touch Switch (BT to Vodafone)
Hi, I have recently switched from BT broadband (openreach) to vodafone (cityfibre). How long will my BT broadband typically remain connected after the vodafone has begun, which was yesterday (as in up and running). I got the email from BT saying sorry to see you go the day placed the order with Vodafone which was the 14th…

Community Fibre
I'm thinking of changing to Community Fibre as the speeds seem a lot faster for the same price as what I'm paying now. Is this too good a deal? Is there a catch? Speeds of up to 920 for £26 a month which is what I'm paying for 150. Or I can get 150 speeds for £18.99. And also, this all aside, how much hassle is it to…

Leaving your Router/Modem on, Costs ?
With electricity costs soaring I am wondering what it is costing me to have my router on all day? Is it best to keep it on or turn it off when I go to bed until the morning? We are off on holiday for a couple of months (we are retired) and I am wondering if I should turn off the router whilst I am away? We are with…

Broadband suppliers: why so little competition?
My broadband contract is up for renewal and I'm feeling disheartened by the paucity of options - I want to move away from Vodafone (speed is ok but have to hard-reset the router ~ monthly to get Netflix to work). It seems like there's less choice and poorer value than a decade ago despite all the fanfare of 'altnets' etc.…

Vodafone doesn't care about disabled customers?
Bit of a rant here but also a warning about Vodafone. My grandmother is 91, disabled and landline dependent. She was paying north of £60/month with PlusNet, mainly because she wanted the unlimited anytime calls. Earlier this month we switched her over to Vodafone as it was £20/month cheaper and offered faster ADSL (10Mbit…

Same provider, different occupant switch
Hi everyone, Searched this in the forum, but had no luck. I'm currently in the rolling 30 day period of my broadband contract. By far the best deal I have found is actually with my existing provider, but it seems to be a new customer deal. Is there no reason why I can't cancel the contract, and another occupant in this…

Open Reach Service have you had this issue?
My broadband provider recently contacted me asking if I would like to upgrade from the Legacy Service to the New Fibre Broadband service. As we had been experiencing issues with losing connection, etc., I said yes. Open Reach has recently been in the street laying the new fibre optic cables, so I thought it was a done…

Digital Voice Landline in another room from Router
I hope I can explain this properly so that perhaps somebody can help. I recently changed from BT broadband to Vodafone. Openreach installed full fibre into a front downstairs bedroom months ago so that is where we had to have the router. The landline telephone was in the hall and connected to the router with a BT Digital…

Recently moved to new build house, my old broadband doesn't cover, advice re: options and consumer r
Hello I've recently moved house to a new build property - so I'm trying to set up internet. My old provider has said they don't cover broadband at my new build but can provide a sim only plan. If I choose to leave, it will be £411 in fees as it is mid-contract (end date Sept 2026). Is there any wiggle room or do I have to…

5G instead of FTTC
We're with TalkTalk for our broadband (rock-solid 67Mbit, FTTC) but we don't use it for about half of the year because we're not home. In the other half we use it often though do no streaming at all and rarely big downloads, more browsing, email and web development. So I've ordered and received a Scancom Three SIM…

Switch to UW from BT - is UW Talktalk in disguise?
Help please. I'm out of contract on BT. I have been paying over the odds for benefits that they now admit I can't receive on the Halo package. I'm now looking at UW as if I bundle I will get a slightly better deal on my energy costs. However, is UW talktalk? When I go on the TalkTalk site, it says it cannot quote me for…

Looking to join Virgin for BB
Moving to a new flat next week. Just wondering whether I could ask Virgin to send the router at my current address instead of new address. Getting conflicting advise as was told the router must be sent to the address where activation will be taking place.
