Virgin Media using bereavement as a gouging opportunity
I know how bad VM can be, as a customer that has to renegotiate my broadband every year. My father-in-law died a couple of weeks ago, and I advised my mother-in-law to call the VM bereavement line to discuss adopting the services and reducing the package, as what they were on was unaffordable to her given the loss of his…

Open reach
Anybody had there phone socket replaced by one of those plugs that require power? We now have one less plug we already have hive heating and a new router. We had fibre already so what’s the point of these new boxes other than they are annoying with flashing lights and power?

Mobile broadband in Maldon, Essex
I'm moving to a retirement flat in Maldon in a few days and the owner has said through the letting agent, that I can't install fibre if it makes permanent changes to the property. If he thinks a quarter of an inch hole counts as changing the property, I suppose mobile broadband will be my only option. I've looked at the…

Anybody get their Fibre from Toob?
Hi, just wondering if anyone on here gets their fibre broadband from Toob, and what their experience has been? Toob are in the process of expanding into my local area, and their costs seems massively lower than VM for potentially faster speeds, so naturally I am curious to see if they are any good. TIA

BT FTTP vs other ISP FTTP
Currently have FTTP 500mb with BT and have not had any problems, other than the renewal price. Spoke to retention and the offer they gave me isn't competitive to other ISPs (new customer). Thinking about switching FTTP to another supplier like SKY, but wondered what the connection will be like. I know with cheaper ADSL ISP…

BeFibre to cease trading - what next for them and other FullFibre customers?
Just announced to the industry this morning. https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2025/06/fullfibre-and-zzoomm-set-to-drop-befibre-broadband-isp-brand.html The question now is, do we end up migrating or given 30 days notice and have to find another ISP (without any exit fees)? It comes off a merger of FullFibre and Zzoomm…

Best WiFi for holiday home
I’m not young so don’t understand all the technical jargon but I have a small holiday home on mainland Spain and I’ve bought a laptop to take over there. Virgin still charging after switching to Plusnet - am I liable?
Hi all, I recently switched my broadband from Virgin Media to Plusnet. After some delays, my Plusnet service was finally activated on 1st May. However, I’ve just noticed that Virgin has issued a new bill covering 17th May to 16th June, even though I’m no longer using their service. I assumed Plusnet would inform Virgin as…

Cityfibre using BT Openreach cable?
Will be moving to Cityfibre in coming months. Spotted a city fibre van across from me today so asked them about my connection. The reply was "you already have fibre to the premises with open reach grey box on wall, we will just use the same cable so won't need to touch the driveway and simply put a new box on the wall…

Because I have Sky Q TV, when Openreach installed FTTP in my street I contacted Sky to install FTTP broadband and so far Openreach have installed a fibre optic cable to just outside my lounge wall. Replacement for NowTv hub
Hiya, I'm hoping someone may be able to offer some advice. My sister is currently with Nowtv broadband part fibre (not powered by sky) and has the old hub 2 which is no longer receiving security updates. It has made her a bit worried so I thought a new router might settle her mind. Now tv has been unhelpful so I'm hoping…
