Virgin media end of contract

Has anyone been hit with Virgins policy of continuing their service after the end of your contract and charging a full months broadband at full price, whether you want it or not? Is there anyway of avoiding the charge? £69 for a days broadband I never used.

Yes. Give your notice 30/31 days before as per the contract.

If you didn't give the required notice to cancel then you'll just move on to a rolling month to month agreement at full price.

That's the way it works with all ISPs.

Edit : If you did give notice then the final bill is not normally pro rated, you pay the full month and then get refunded for the days after you were disconnected and it's best to leave the payment method in place to ensure that refund arrives.

Did you use the One Touch Switch service via your new provider?

Or were you just cancelling all broadband to your premises?

I'm with virgin media, they send you emails before hand and recommend deals (I received a heads up in February and in April, my contract ended May). I just had mine renewed few weeks ago, and of course they hit you with admin renewal fee £16 🫩 but better than the £52+ I would have to pay.

You need to keep an eye on your email. It auto renews to the original price of the package if you don't terminate or take up another deal.

If you don't give adequate notice for any ISP that'll happen, you should get a pro-rata refund.
