*** SKY £180 voucher ***

Hello,

I’m considering switching to the Sky Full Fibre 150 deal advertised through MoneySavingExpert.

The MSE comparison tool currently shows:

  • Sky Full Fibre 150
  • £22 per month
  • 24-month contract
  • £180 prepaid Mastercard/shopping voucher
  • Equivalent cost shown by MSE as £14.50 per month after the £180 reward

The offer says it is for “new customers”.

I currently have NOW Broadband, but I am out of contract. I had SKY broadband many years ago.

I contacted Sky to ask whether I would qualify for the £180 reward if I switch from NOW Broadband to Sky via the MSE offer. Sky told me they cannot confirm this because it is an MSE-specific deal and advised me to contact MSE.

Can anyone please clarify whether an existing NOW Broadband customer qualifies as a “new customer” for the purposes of the £180 MSE reward.

Many thanks.

I can't say for absolute certain, but I strongly suspect you will not be counted as a 'new customer'.

NOW Broadband is these days labelled as "Powered by Sky", meaning that "NOW Broadband" is little more than specific plans offered on the Sky Broadband platform.

This used to be different, in that NOW Broadband ran on its own platform - though even so, ultimately NOW was/is just a brand/trading name used by Sky UK Limited.

So if you're actually on an old legacy NOW Broadband plan it's just possible it might work out for you to be counted as a 'new customer' by Sky Broadband, but I wouldn't hold my hopes out for that to work.

I would also say it's a no for being a new customer but if you like the deal for the full price then go for it and if you get the voucher then it's a bonus

This post here suggests that you might be eligible.

According to this from the same forum you can't use the OTS unless things have changed since last year.

Don't know if the voucher would be payable if you have to order via Sky.

I'm not sure that is correct, as whilst they may have the same underlying owners, they are individual providers and the systems aren't linked. In banking for example you can use the switching service to switch between banks in the same group. Customers may not be eligible for cashback rewards for switching between different brands in a group, but it can still be done via CASS.

I've taken an interest in this as I am currently with NOW.

I can't see anything in Sky's terms to prevent switching from NOW. In fact in their £200 switching credit terms it states Applicable to all providers. Which you'd have thought at that point it would definitely rule out customers switching from NOW.

If it was me I'd be inclined to give it a go. There's always the cooling off period to fall back on.

I just had a look at the OP offer and checking MSE broadband checker I only get £95 voucher offer

That deal must of ended and a lower offer is available or it's my post code.

Nowadays NOW Broadband's current plans are explicitly provided by Sky Broadband - see their tagline "NOW Broadband Powered by Sky":
    www.nowtv.com/broadband

This applies to all of NOW Broadband's 'full fibre' (FTTP) plans, as explained by this ISPreview article from February 2024:
NOW Broadband Finally Launch UK Full Fibre Plan, With a Catch

Whilst NOW Broadband used to offer ADSL and FTTC ('part fibre') plans using their own platform (i.e. not 'powered by Sky'), later in 2024 they changed to only offering new FTTC plans which were "powered by Sky", i.e. provided using the Sky Broadband platform.

So the only the legacy plans from before mid-2024 which are on the legacy NOW Broadband platform (basically a billing and customer management platform) which just might qualify for the switch offer as described by the OP.

The name of those legacy NOW Broadband plans are:

    • "Brilliant Broadband" for ADSL
    • "Fab Fibre" for the slower (advertised as "up to 36Mbps") part-fibre / FTTC service
    • "Super Fibre" for the faster (advertised as "up to 63Mbps") part-fibre / FTTC service.

Yes, that's all clear. But the OP has stated they are out of contract, which suggests that they are still a NOW Broadband customer to me. Similar to my own situation.

This is part of an email I recently received:

There’s nothing you need to do. Your NOW Broadband subscription will carry on as normal. You can find out more about the changes below.

    Price changes

Effective from 3 July 2026, the price of our broadband plans will be going up by £3 per month. You’ll see the price change reflected in your bill on or after 3 July 2026.

If you’d like to talk to us about these changes, you can call us on 0330 041 2498 to discuss your account and any options available to you. You also have the option to cancel your NOW Broadband plan within 31 days of receiving this email without incurring early termination charges, including if you are still within your minimum contract period.

You’re on our standard broadband; faster speeds may be available through our investment in Full Fibre. You can call us or visit sky.com/nowpbs to find out more about details of our rollout.

You can check the details of your current plan by heading to www.nowtv.com/mypackage

    Thanks for choosing NOW Broadband.

I don't think the OP is currently on Full Fibre. Perhaps they can confirm. I agree that if they are on a NOW Broadband Powered by Sky plan, Sky are already their provider. The snip below is from the NOW website.

Choose the plan with speeds that work best for you. We'll then take you to Sky.com to complete your order.

As with these incentives and cashback sites it will be upto Sky to decide wether the OP is a new customer as they will have to pay whoever is running the voucher scheme a commission for a new customer.

I have had cashback sites not pay me because they said the cashback site wasn't the referer and as the cashback site don't get commission the I don't get cashback.

As with all these if you get a voucher or cashback then it's a bonus but still have to pay whatever the monthly cost is.
