Leaving Virgin Media then BEWARE
I rang VM recently to say I was leaving. I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to leave and was not interested in any retention deals. I was pestered to hear about a new price but declined to even hear one. After some time and against my wishes I was given a new price and declined. I was then told I needed to be…

Disconnected phone line
Looking for advice A relative of mine has been paying both Talk Talk and BT for their phone lime for a considerable number of years. I was surprised this had happened because surely both Talk Talk and BT can see they are suppling the phone line. We tried to get through to Talk Talk to cancel the line but after being on…

Is it possible to move my Landline phone number to a mobile contract?
My parents BT contract for phone and broadband is up soon but there are not many deals out there for 55mb+ broadband and unlimited phone calls. They are currently copper wire but i know they will have to move to VOIP. Their intruder alarm uses the copper wire to inform us the alarm is going off so we are having to change…

Is there a simple way to test the ringtone of my landline phone ?
One of the problems with the switchover to fibre seems to be that the BT DV adapter will not ring some phones. Is there a simple way to test my phone in the absence of mobile coverage ?

Suitable phones or packages to block cold calling?
Everyone knows that using the BT site to block numbers or being on the TPS is useless. Is the only option to pay BT extra to have a restricted list of friends and family who can contact you? What are the other options? Expensive phones can do this I think but it really annoys me that after all these years phone companies…

Cutting cost for virgin media broadband, one parent retired
Hi all, hoping someone can point me in the right direction... My dad has just retired at Easter and as such still organising his employers pension and state pension. He's not yet applied for pension credit but will be looking into doing so after we've read up on here to try for it. My mum doesn't receive anything but pip…

Are there any contracts that don’t charge £££ for sending pics?
Im detoxing from social media (and feeling better for it for now) but miss being able to send a few pics. They are very very slow trying to email them from my phone (even as one at a time) and texting on O2 is pretty expensive. I know it’s seen as an out of date way to do things but is there a contract that includes being…

Zzoomm retention deals - anyone managed to haggle? (and my experience to date)
Has anyone had any experience with Zzoomm retention deals after their initial 12-month contract ended? My experience so far is described below, but I wondered if anyone else has successfully negotiated with them. I spoke with customer service today but was only offered the standard monthly rates. So I gave a month's notice…

BT choose start date and credit check
I was going through the ordering process for broadband and EE TV. I got to the credit check page and stopped. A credit check is not a problem, but as it is a hard check, I do not want to be checked unnecessarily, if they are not going to offer a choice of installation dates further on. My current provider package ends on…

PAC Mobile Transfer
Hi, In the most distilled form, the question I’m asking is: is it possible to use a PAC code to transfer old number onto a contract that will be four months into a 24 month contract. i have seen conflicting information about whether it is possible. The number I want to keep is currently on a PAYG sim ‘contract’ with Tesco.…

BT Landline - changing package & exit fees
I'm looking to reduce the BT Landline package in a property now vacant and due to be sold eventually. I only want their basic PAYG home phone offering now, but I am aware BT services usually seem to be packages with terms, 12 or 24 months etc. As the house will be sold eventually (6 to 9 months maybe?) I am aware that I…

O2 charging for mobile I was told was included in my Virgin Media package
VM phoned me on 24.2.24 to renew my contract, offering a discounted package of £59/month that included O2 mobile. I didn't and don't want O2 mobile but was told I couldn't get the discounted VM package without it and repeatedly assured the £10/month O2 charge was included in the package so I may as well have it and didn't…

Virgin Media Chasing TV Box returned over 8 Years Ago!
Been with VM for over 20 years, have had TV broadband etc. from the start. In 2016 I cancelled the TV service (Kept broadband) and returned the set-top box. Now I am cancelling broadband and completely closing my account. They are asking for the router and TV set-top box to be returned. I have the router ready to go back…

£100 BT Security Deposit UNRETURNED
Gave BT £100 security deposit in 2019. Cancelled their service today as moving house and now they say they have no record of my holding deposit as it would be "archived" as so OLD??? I have complained to investigations and they said they'd email in 48hrs but he wasn't hopeful my £100 would be returned. I had to give £100…

Sky+ stopping support of BBC 1 issue & will lose all BBC channels
Hi I am having an issue with my Sky+ box no longer recording BBC1 ( can't live pause or rewind either). Having spoken to Sky technical support a couple of times I have been told that no additional support will be provided and only option is to upgrade to Sky Q. Was also told that all BBC channels at some point in future…
