Gave BT £100 security deposit in 2019. Cancelled their service today as moving house and now they say they have no record of my holding deposit as it would be "archived" as so OLD???
I have complained to investigations and they said they'd email in 48hrs but he wasn't hopeful my £100 would be returned.
I had to give £100 deposit due to poor credit at the time...
Any advice?

Was this £100 a refundable deposit, or was it just an upfront payment into your BT account so that you were in credit with them?

They said refundable upon 6 months completed payments during contract at any time. I've been OOC for years...
I was told once I had made 6 months consecutive payments at any time or when I leave it would be returned x0 -

So why didn't you ask for it after 6 months?
I think after 5 years you can kiss that goodbye.0 -
Are you sure they didn't simply add £100 credit your broadband account after 6 months and not charge your bank account for two or three months until the credit balance was used up. It's easy to miss something that's not there.0

Any advice?I suspect it was added to a bill as a credit somewhere down the line so may be worth seeing how far back you can go.Although as its took you five years and a house move to get round to claiming it back, you obviously haven't missed it, with all due respect.0
