Hi,
In the most distilled form, the question I’m asking is:
is it possible to use a PAC code to transfer old number onto a contract that will be four months into a 24 month contract.
i have seen conflicting information about whether it is possible. The number I want to keep is currently on a PAYG sim ‘contract’ with Tesco.
I currently have a contract with Sky with a different mobile number. I want to lose this number, take my old number back, and happy to continue in the contract with Sky.

Can't see why not, have you asked Sky as they'd be the obvious fist port of call?0

Yes. You can get a PAC code from the Tesco SIM. It will be valid for 30 days.
You can then Transfer your number to Sky using that PAC code.
Your Sky contract will continue and your old Tesco number will now be your Sky number.0 -
By the way, you will lose the Tesco PAYG contract and whatever credit you've got on it.0

Thanks all. Appreciate the help.
We had spoken to Sky and the agent was very unsure and kept saying that it would only be possible if the sim was within 30 days of registering (which it isn’t).
Appreciate all the responses.0 -
