Why so much anti-laptop sentiment?
Does any one know what is going on with this "anti-laptop" thing? Go on any train, or any waiting room, and make the slightest keyboard click and people go nuts...they start stamping their feet , or whatever , repeatedly in kind of "revenge noise". I mean, the other day, I was in M&S Cafe near Southampton, and I was on my…

Improving TV aerial reception
I realise our current configuration is probably not optimal, but I'm unsure of how best to proceed in order to improve things. So we have 2 recorder boxes + the TV… the aerial cable from the wall goes to recorder box 1, another cable goes from there to recorder box 2, and finally yet another cable from there into the TV.…

How is my PC not good enough to handle YouTube shorts?
Or Facebook videos for that matter, but normal YT videos are ok. YT Shorts are horrendous for this. I've clicked on one right now to view it but it's a bit jittery. I accidentally scroll down to the next one, realise what I've done & scroll back. Nothing loads. I scroll to the 2nd video again which freezes immediately but…

Shopify - do I have to use it?
I am ancient, and I tend to be very wary of making payments on the internet. Most times, I'm sufficiently reassured by having to enter my card details (not saved on any site as far as I know) and then do the thing with a code to my mobile phone. But every now and then, I am invited to pay with "SHOP", which I understand to…

Is there a safe and secure Android 13 emulator for Windows 10/11?
I have no great need for one but I do have a couple of mobile phone apps where it might occasionally be useful to use my laptop rather than my mobile phone. I am comfortable with mobile phone use but there are occasions where it is easier to type and input data on a laptop rather than a phone. I have a few Android only…

How to find/identify identical duplicate files (Windows 10)?
Before you don't read the issue & instantly respond with something like "dupeguru" then please read… I've used a couple duplicate file finder programs in the past & they've found things. Now whether they've found everything I'm beginning to question because I accessed a drive that I'd recently ran one of these pieces of…
