iPhone 13 Pro notifications
My iphone has become selective about what it chooses to notify me of - this is confined to a few apps, notably Gumtree and Olio (both of which have put me off posting freebies as it becomes a task in vigilance to monitor messages) and Ring. Yet others appear to work - such as Boots, BlueLightCard, Fitness. This actually…

Which Mobile (Sim Use) Router for Watching TV?
Hi This is an extension to a previous question, but I thought it is best to start a new thread. So, I have actually decided to ditch my Broadband ISP provider. I live in a village near the sea and we just don't get decent coverage. My TV comes through the Broadband and it often buffers. My wifi on my laptop and my phone…

Old TV, new soundbar
Hoping someone can help me with this because I'm not especially techie-minded. I have an old Sony Bravia TV (20 years old). I recently blithely bought a Denon soundbar to use with this, only to discover the TV was too old to simply plug in and play. The TV has one HDMI outlet, which I currently use with a Firestick. What I…

Any not too expensive door bell with camera that will store footage to sd card or phone.
Hi folks, Is there any inexpensive door bells that can act as a CCTV as well (preferably not bad at night time) and can store the footage to a Micro SD card or phone, preferably would like to hear from someone who has similar one. I'm on the lookout for probably two.

iPhone SE repair or replace?
On Sunday during a long video call the screen on my iPhone SE 2020 (bought Dec 2020) began showing strange pale shadows and light & dark stripes. Sometimes the stripes are vertical, sometimes horizontal; sometimes the screen looks as if it has a gauze over it and sometimes it looks almost normal. Software & security all up…

Is Macrium Reflect useless now?
Finally got my backside in gear & went to do a file & folder backup. Looks like it's not an option. I'm running version v8.0.7783. Is there a version I can download somewhere that'll allow me to do a file & folder backup or isn't this possible? I don't want to do an image backup. If it's not possible then is there FREE…

Confused how to change my old router to a new one
Hi all My small office currently uses a Router (Model Draytek Vigor 2860n). Recently, after getting a couple of new iPhones in the office, we have been receiving messages on our phones saying Weak Security. The actual message says WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) is not considered secure. If this is your Wi-Fi network, configure the router…

VPN question
I have a BT Smart Hub router and NordVPN reckon this won’t work with their VPN (on their website they list all makes of incompatible routers , but the BT one is NOT listed so I emailed them). They did ask the ‘make’ but the BT router does not show the maker. Are NordVPN correct? Anyone had similar issue? Thanks

TV reactive lighting strips?
Tried looking for a more suitable place with a bigger audience to ask this question but struggled to find where would be best to ask really so here I am. We have the LED lighting strips on the back of our TV but they're the select a colour & that's it kind of thing. I've seen videos advertising those strips which react to…

Have I a problem starting with my PC?
My PC running windows 11 is about 2 years old and has been a great buy, always worked supebly. In the last month I've noticed a type of hesitancy in following a command, i.e. a site in the search bar, not a big amount of time but where it always seemed to be instant, I notice a small time lapse. I realise it could be many…

Sticky keyboard keys & cleaning
Googling this everything seems to point at spilling a sticky liquid (fizzy drink for example) on your keyboard & cleaning it up. Which would explain the sticky keys obviously. But what about when nothing has been spilled? My keys have started sticking, annoyingly. Sometimes I can be pressing a few times & nothing…

Solved : Vax Rapide Carpet Cleaner - Not dispensing water
I have a Vax Rapide Carpet Shampooer - after 12 months and only 4 decent uses, it stopped issuing water onto the carpets even though a thorough examination showed no obvious fault. Vax Helpline totally useless. I looked on several "Self-Help" boards and found that lots of other frustrated people have the same problem, but…

Help! I bought an iPhone mini
Only tiny phone I could find. It's second hand Now found calls aren't connecting and if someone rings me they just get a message. I don't hear anything from the other end. Messages get through. It's for emergencies so very worrying. Any ideas? I can't put the SIM back in my old phone because it was cut down for the mini.…

Has anyone got a laptop without a number pad to recommend?
Morning all Thanks to the help on here a while ago I've managed to keep my little Stream going a bit longer (Wise Disk - what a revelation!) but am now on the hunt for a 'proper' laptop without a number pad, hopefully with a 15-16 inch screen. It doesn't seem possible to use a search term to specify this and sometimes you…
