Warning about Mobile Phones Direct - Enhanced Trade In Offer
Hi all - just sharing the experience I've had with Mobile Phones Direct on a recent purchase (Samsung Galaxy 22). I was mis-sold on two fronts - in particular the 'Enhanced Trade In offer' which is a common 'offer' they have, as well as experiencing rubbish customer service. I found their website through the MSE phone…

RWG any good?
Another thread (about 3's prices rising) had a post about a company called RWG which apparently has a free offer for 50min/50SMS and 250MB if you top-up with £5 or for 100min/100SMS and 750MB if you top-up with £15. Sounds almost too good to be true but seems genuine from what I can tell from posts here on MSE. CS seems to…

Dual SIM phone and MMS
I've had a strange thing the other day when I wanted to send an MMS from my (rather old) dual SIM phone. SIM1 (RWG, uses EE) is the default SIM for everything, while SIM2 (Voda) is just used a standby because some peeps still use that number. So what happened is that I erroneously tried to send an MMS via SIM2. This…

Why I did NOT go with Plusnet Sim offer
A few weeks back I was looking for a new Sim Only account and saw the Plusnet deal on MSE. I had a decent allowance and the plan was to use it for data as it has a healthy 12gb per month. I clicked through only to be asked for my date of birth and my address for the last three years. I reviewed their site and as you may…

Would it be cheaper to add a new plan to an existing EE account or to keep separate EE and iD acc's?
Hypothetical scenario here. If I had a child who's upgrading with me to the same phone (iPhone 13) from an iPhone 11 - would it be cheaper overall to keep the two separate accounts or to cut off iD mobile and add a new number and plan to an existing EE account?

O2 PAC response - There's been an issue processing your request
I have a PAYG sim with O2 and I use their £10 7GB/unlimited texts and calls bundle. I fund this by topping up the credit by £10 just before the rollover date. There is always an additional £1.47 of credit "headroom" on my account. I've bought a Lebara PAYG sim and have sent a PAC request on the O2 network. Instead of a PAC…

Apple iPhone Battery throttling Claim?
I keep seeing various news items, about users claiming for Apple's battery throttling on their iPhones over the years. Is this something we can look at or do? I definetly had something along these lines with my last two iPhones, so just wondered if its something the public can claim or look at? Thank you for any help

Can you use any Three Unlimited Data SIM in a Mifi (Mobile Broadband) device?
Not sure which thread this should be posted in - Mobiles or Broadband. Can anyone clarify this please? On the "Three" website, they list deals for "Pay Monthly SIM Only Deals" and it says on the page that the benefits include "Personal Hotspot" in the UK. Currently doing Unlimited Data on a 24 month contract for £22 with 6…

Best PAYG sim-only deal which includes a non-expiring data allowance
I use my mobile very little for mobile network calls and so am currently on 3's PAYG sim. However it charges 5p per MB for data use. Occasionally, when I'm out, I receive what can be lengthy What's App video calls from family members which, of course, wipe out all my credit! I have thought about data add-ons but these seem…

Virginmedia
Virgin media will be stopping PAYG soon. I've always been on their PAYG so don't know if I can take my old Virginmedia number with me. I've got the PAC code and have seen a cheap PAYG Vodafone mobile. Can I change over to Vodafone and keep my old number? Re Virginmedia broadband comparison - I have a landline, anytime…

Cheapest option for light users
I'm a light user who only rarely makes phone calls or sends texts, but does require bursts of data from time to time. I have been using a combination of services to keep my monthly cost to around £1.50 per month, with an average of 1 GB of data per month. Here's how it works:(1) I use a dual SIM phone(2) I use a 24GB 24…

2 factor authentication: a solution looking for a problem?
I am posting this to the Mobile Phones Board, as this is where I crashed into this issue. My stepson is in long-term mental health care. His Mum (my wife) has full control over his affairs (covered by LPA and Deputyship). This includes managing his mobile phone contract. He does not live with us, although we are fortunate…

Are texts to 2040 free?
Hello, I would like to turn off all marketing texts for EE. At the bottom of each text they send me it says "Text STOP to 2040 to opt out from all text message marketing". Every time I go to text 2040 a message appears on my phone screen saying that it may cause charges to my account. Does anyone know whether sending a…

Im leaving three, so tried to text 65075, which as we all know is FREE. it comes back as I cant because its a "premuim rate SMS". Now I never change settings on my phone, ever. 65075 worked 12 month ago because I used it, they then offered to keepo my existing deal so I stayed. Now it seems to be blocked and nothing would…

3 refusing to issue PAC
Went online with 3 earlier to get a PAC to move a contract away from them to O2. Contract is in last 30 days, been with them for 8 years and never missed a payment. 3 refused to give PAC there and then and stated 'we will reply to you within 48 hours'. I asked to raise as a complaint and was told no. Gits. Absolutely zero…

Pixel with blue light card
So I'm looking to get a new phone. I've got a blue light card and they are offering 20% off a pixel 6. Does anyone know if you get the £120 store credit as well as the 20% off? They are also offering money off for trade in but that does not seem to work as well as the 20% off for blue light??

International SIM card advice for data roaming in Canada and USA
Hi all I'm with Plusnet Mobile and will be travelling to both Canada and the USA in the next few months for a couple of weeks each.I've discovered that roaming data will cost an eye watering £6 per MB in Canada so i am keen to find some way of getting my costs down. I will mainly be using my iPhone abroad for data so i'm…
