Vodafone PAYG1 changes
Doesn't seem to have been mentioned here or is MSE news, but this excellent tariff for low/intermittant users is changing for the worse (much worse for some). Used to be 20p/min/text/5Mb, but capped at £1 a day for unlimited mins/texts and 500Mb of data. From Jan it'll be £1 as soon as you use send a text, make a call or…

Please can anyone help? I have a 5G capable mobile (Google Pixel 4a 5G). My mobile provider is BT, with a BT Halo package comprisng home broadband and mobile phone. Blagged best deal with iPhone 11 EE ends 29 Jan
Hi...I just want to say if you were thinking about this go for it! The deal is set up through Affordable Mobles which have very mixed reviews from past years. Before going ahead I phoned with some queries and a brilliant young lady answered all my questions and then emailed me so I had a direct link back to her. My bank…

Contract ending - switching timeline
My phone contract with EE is due to expire in a couple of weeks. The phone still works fine, so I'm planning to switching to a sim-only deal. EE's SIM only deals aren't great, so I'm likely moving to another provider, but I want to keep my phone number. I'm not quite sure about the timeline for what I need to do though. I…

Don't buy phones from AMAZON, phone insurance does not cover them.
Just a background story to what happened, read please, a lot of important information here (in my opinion). Recently bought a phone from Amazon and it was faulty, so requested a return, the return process looked simple enough and the next day I had someone at my doorstep collecting the phone, the next week the problem…

Vodafone charging me £1 daily since 12/01 just to switch my phone on! (0 calls made & 0 texts sent)
Amazingly, this issue with now being charged £1 daily by Vodafone for just switching your mobile on, even if you make 0 calls & send 0 texts, hasn't even been mentioned so far on MoneysavingExpert.com (or if it has, I can't find it). We live in a signal blackspot, I cannot make calls or send texts from within our house,…

What’s the cheapest sim when you don’t want to call or text, you just need to be able to receive?
I’m sick of texts related to a hobby but do need them so I’ve been considering an old phone. I only need to receive texts, I don’t need to send any. Does anyone know the cheapest sim?

PAYG 1p Mobile
Just a warning to fully understand conditions when you sign up to any deal. I didn't and now stand to lose almost £30 of credit to 1p mobile (not their fault!) because their deal involves paying a minimum of £10 every 3 months. I'm not using my phone enough to need all this credit. Now, having read Martins excellent…

At what point is a phone unfit for purpose?
I bought a Nokia 8.3 about 6-7 weeks ago, and while it is a fab phone, it has randomly shutdown three times. There is no apparent pattern to it, I only find out when I go to use the phone and find it unresponsive - totally locked up in fact. I then have to do a reset (hold down power and volume button for 15 seconds) to…

What happened to Samsung phones?
I have had Samsung phones since the Galaxy S2 and for me they have been great, loved the way you could be in phone/contacts/messagesand phone/message with just a simple right or left swipe. No matter which section you were on a simple left/right swipe worked.Seems this is no longer the case, no longer works when in…

Virgin Media £6 monthly SIM
Yesterday, we switched over my wife's Virgin PAYG to a £6 monthly SIM, which clearly stated "unlimited calls", "unlimited texts". However, my wife had an email from Virgin firstly stating that she would be charged for 084,087, 118 and 09 numbers which we understand. It then mapped out what she would be charged for other…

Incorrectly charged £751.50 early cancellation fee
Hi everybody, I got a phone contract through 'Mobile Phones Direct' (MPD) in December. It was a contact with o2 and the signal at my home was awful, so I returned it as per the returns process within 14 days to MPD. This return was accepted by MPD and I got the texts etc to say it was accepted and I wouldn't be charged any…

I really need to switch from Three to Vodaphone (Vodaphone has great signal at all my work locations). Found a great deal through Hotdealsuk, I have 2 questions though. 1. How to stop Marketing Texts
I've received two text messages over the last couple of days from a taxi company in an area that I no longer live. They don't provide a phone number or the facility to reply. Where the phone number should be is literally just the name of the phone company. The text message reads 'Did you hear? We have merged with *****…
