New SIM only deal - worth starting now or wait until April?

I am in the process of changing/upgrading my phone and I've chosen to invest in a SIM only deal. Is it better to set it up now before the 17%+ price hikes in April or should I wait until after the price hike to see where the best deals are?

It depends. Some providers already exclude increases this year (for contracts taken out late Feb / early March onwards). Check the terms and conditions of the deals you are interested in.

Lebara and Talkmobile, amongst others, do rolling 1 month deals so easy to leave if the price does rise.1
