Lock in Free Roaming in Europe?

I'm tempted to switch to O2 to get free roaming in Europe.  But what if O2 decides to discontinue free roaming a month or two later?  Would a contract protect me? Specifically, can anyone confirm that a pay monthly contract with O2 will commit them to provide you free roaming in Europe (as per the current offer) for the length of the contract?

If yes, then the longer your contract, the longer your guarantee of free roaming in Euope.  I'm tempted to take a 24-month contract to lock in that feature for a long time.

They can change the contract if they need to, but that would give you 30 days to quit for free.

If the EU networks decide to increase their roaming fee's to the UK networks (which they can now we're out of the EU roaming agreement), then at some point the costs would become too high for the UK networks to absorb...

They'll most likely keep EU roaming free for existing customers, like the other networks have done.

You can get better O2 sim only deals if you go via Uswitch but they are limited to 12 months.

And any contract started today, 15 March, will go up by about 17.3% on 1 April.  From their past behaviour, can we guess if the price of new contracts on offer next month will go up more or less than 17.3% , like for like?
