She just messaged me saying she's considering getting an Orange travel eSIM but it has a french number. Will that cost her or my family and her friends anything to message and text?

  • Does she need a SIM?

If so better with a UK based one if she is going to be in the UK

Lots of cheap options on the market.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Ok just checked with her and she wants to keep her normal SIM in as it's a business phone too. But her phone can take an eSIM hence the reason she's asking about this Orange eSIM.
  • She could move her normal SIM to the e-SIM then pick up a cheap PAYG SIM on arrival in the UK.

She could even get GiffGaff to send her one before she leaves home.

Lycamobile now offer a PAYG eSim.

Well that's quite a coup, no UK operator up to now has offered a PAYG eSIM, Three can't even get their PAYM eSIM proffer to market.

Using a French SIM in the UK will involve international call/text charges from any UK phone. There may or may not be roaming charges from the French network.
