Paylink
What is it? If you agree to let it have access to your bank account can it see all transactions and to whom? Can it see your standing orders and direct debits? Can it see linked credit card/savings accounts? How far back in your bank records can it go? Does it have any impact or is it recorded in your credit history? How…

TSB takeover by Santander. Better to switch now with incentive or wait for take-over?
I have an active, packaged current account with TSB (mobile phone and travel insurance plus car breakdown included for a fee). Should I switch to Santander's Edge account now, which is cheaper but with the same benefits, or will there be a bonus or similar paid to TSB account holders when Santander takes them over some…

Unknown bank account registered at my address?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but anyone have any ideas on this? Wife and I moved into our current house in March 2025, last week we received a letter which was addressed correctly (as in it was our address) but not in either of our names, nor was it the surname of the previous owners who had lived there since…

PACKAGED ACCOUNT = PHONE NOT COVERED UNDER PHONE INSURANCE
The RBOS Reward Silver Account has an exclusion that is buried in the Ts and Cs that makes the package worthless to me and many others. They do not cover phones with a screen size of more than 7" so therefore do not cover Samsung Fold Phones. Ridiculous but true. Does anyone know if other packaged accounts have the same…

Bank Account Aggregators
HiIt's been a few years since I last used a bank account aggregator to help me see how I'd been spending my money.I used money dashboard and yolt.Neither of those exist now, and I can't find any alternatives. What happened? And are there any open banking alternatives which can help summarise my spending? Everything looks…

Windows 11 and Microsoft Money
New PC arriving with Windows 11 and looking to continue using Microsoft Money on it. Digging around online I see suggestions that both the Sunset Edition and the 2005 edition should run, but each one seems to create some problems some times. I know there are quite a few users of Money on here - any advice on which of the…

Paying in more than estimated
Most banks these days ask you how much you expect to pay into your new current account, during the application. What happens, if anything, if you've under estimated and exceed this amount, fairly significantly. Eg from a maturing fixed saver, elsewhere, or an inheritance or large gift. Or an increase in "earnings".…

Starling Business Account: Forecast Annual Income - Why?
I recently received an in-app notification from Starling that they'd increased my forecast Business Account income for the next year to over £50,000. I've just worked out what my actual income was for the 12 months prior to this notification, and it was just over £41,000. Is it worth me asking them to correct this, or…

Linked bank accounts
So I opened a ZOPA Biscuit account in October, mainly for the savings rate and interest on the current account. When I opened the account, they asked me if I would like to "Link" my accounts, saying it makes transfers quicker and safer. I'd not done it before but thought, why not. Later when I looked at the list of…

LHV Bank?
I'm looking for an easy access account with a decent interest rate. From the list of current accounts on the main website, LHV Bank appears - it matches the BoE base rate for interest (currently 4%). It's App-only, which I can live with. But, when I look at the fees rates charges document, it seems to state that standing…

Aviva sets up DD from quote
I applied for a home insurance quote from Aviva. I did not take out the insurance. I have found that they have set up a DD on my bank account, but no money has been taken despite it showing as active and an amount. Has anyone ever seen this? seems a bit cheeky.

Anyone have issues logging into Nationwide online banking using passcode/OTP?
Apparently its not working, despite entering the correct passcode and OTP. Was locked out earlier for 30 mins so tried again but keeping getting the message that I've entered incorrect details which is definitely not the case. Bizarrely it ALWAYS asks for 1st-3rd-5th digits from my 6 digit passcode. Anyone else seeing the…

Lloyds future payment set up
Bit puzzled. On 2 Jan I set up a single future payment for 1 Feb. I have printed "you set up" confirmation, & it's all correct. Looking recently on my a/c I can't actually see it set up anywhere, nothing in 'pending', all DDs & SOs, but not this transaction. Popped to Lloyds Bank, told "no, you won't be able to see it, but…

Tesco Clubcard Pay+ altertnative
It's no surprise that after the Barclays takeover, TescoBank have announced that they are withdrawing this card from April 2026. I have found this card invaluable in places that won't accept cash but can be risky carrying your usual debit card ie. swimming pool, where you leave valuables in a locker. I would like open a…
