Prepaid cards & PoA
I need to get my dad a prepaid debit card so he has some independence - I have had to activate PoA (with his agreement & bank's support) due to him falling victim multiple scams, irresponsible borrowing & inability to budget. I have downloaded Hyperjar but as he is an adult I can't request a card for him, he has to be registered himself via the app. He can't do this & I live some distance away.
Is there a card I can open for him? Tried the chat in Hyperjar but it keeps disconnecting & agents don't understand what I'm asking.

Why not get a dedicated normal fee free current account with no overdraft in your Dads name but you have access to it with PoA where only you know the login details to transfer money in to it? The debit card is in your Dads name. Then you can fund that remotely with a weekly/monthly allowance, or add more if it's urgently required?

I think this would be the simplest solution to the problem...

or set up a simple Starling or Chase account in his name, one of the ones where you have to top it up from another account, but because it’s in his name he still gets the card.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
