Halifax messed up
I'm really annoyed at Halifax. I've had a current account with them for 30 odd years. Out of the blue I got an email from them telling me that my new debit card should have arrived, and I could start using it straight away. Strange because my existing card is valid till 2029. The new card didn't arrive, so after a week I…

Activating new HSBC physical secure key - no activation prompt when try to login?
My old HSBC physical secure key stopped working two weeks ago - battery stopped working and it wouldn't switch on. Requested a new one by phone - after informing them - and my old one should therefore have been deactivated? Received my new key yesterday. The unhelpful instructions just tell you go to hsbc.co.uk to activate…

Cashback stacking
So for thing like Zilch and such where you link a card, what works in terms of cashback stacking? If for example I had a retailer offer with my bank for 10% cashback and then Zilch also had a cashback offer for the same brand, amd I right in thinking I wouldn't get both as the payment wouldn't be recognised as from that…

Direct Debit change notification
I know there's a regulation that says that notification of a change to a regular DD payment needs to be made at least 10 working days before the payment is taken. But is that the organisation sending out the notification or the account holder receiving it? Problem is that our council tax has gone up by a substantial…

I made the mistake of transferring my wages and savings to Halifax as I wanted to start fresh from my other bank account with HSBC as they aren’t the best in my opinion. I made the mistake of transferring money to my Monzo to pay off my Monzo flex and then decided I…

Hsbc online login
Hi Usually when you go on their website to login to online banking it asks you to generate a code from your mobile app. But now it asks you to login to the app and scan a QR code that appears on the website. I have tried scanning the QR code several times but nothing happens... Anyone else had this issue?

Stop using Edge Current Account but keep Edge Saver Account?
I have been cutting back on what I spend on direct debits from my Santander Edge Current Account and because they no longer give cashback from shopping I now have less than £3.00 cashback which no longer covers the £3.00 fee so I am thinking of closing my edge current account ( maybe switching to get a switching bonus)…

Tesco Clubcard Pay+ altertnative
It's no surprise that after the Barclays takeover, TescoBank have announced that they are withdrawing this card from April 2026. I have found this card invaluable in places that won't accept cash but can be risky carrying your usual debit card ie. swimming pool, where you leave valuables in a locker. I would like open a…

The benifits of the gold level are pretty good but it requires you to spend 25k which is out of reach for me as normal spending even over a few years. Is there some hack to it? Is there a way to pay yourself and it be eligable spending? I have the money available in savings to do it but it's just if paying by the linked…

Nationwide Flexdirect Account
I have a Nationwide Bank account, which I am mostly happy with, however one small gripe is whenever I or someone transfers money to another Nationwide account it only shows the sort code and account number. I phoned them up to see if I was doing something wrong and they stated that I wasn't. So I guess I just have to put…

I had a senior moment yesterday where i didn’t have enough funds to pay my credit card direct debt. And the payment had been returned. I did top up my account before the end of day but it’s not been taken yet. On the credit card app it is still shown as processing. Does that mean it will be taken in due course? In the mean…
