Switching bank account joint or sole ?
Hi everyone, I noticed the offer to switch by Lloyds today, and I am not sure if I'm elegible, as I switched a joint account with my partner 3 years ago, which in theory means I can't switch again as the requirement is no switching since 04/2020. But as that was a joint account and this would be open on my name only, does…

Fraud on payment card - why these transactions?
Nine fraudulent card transactions appeared on my bank account yesterday. Thankfully I spotted them promptly and got the card cancelled. Some of them were travel websites, but three were to an insurance company (different amounts), two another insurance company, and another to a third different insurance company. The travel…

How long does Co-op take to send a bank transfer?
Do they not use Faster Payments like everyone else? I sent a bank transfer to myself (Co-op to Halifax) yesterday at 5pm. It’s now 8am the following day and it still hasn’t arrived! Are they still using the 3-5 days system from back in the day?

Upgrading from Santander 123 to Edge
I have a Santander 123 account with a balance of over
£30,000, which earned me £395.00 interest in year 2024/2025 @ 2% interest. (It
was a higher balance during that year) I was considering upgrading to the Santander Edge until I
realised that there is no interest, only via the Edge Saver and only on a balance
of £4,000. I…

Switching from Natwest
I'm considering switching to a Club Lloyds account from Natwest. As part of my banking with Natwest I have a 'Digital Regular Saver' account which I get a good rate of interest on, even if I can only add £150 to it each month. If I switch from Natwest will the 'Digital Regular Saver' account have to close?

Current Account switching question
Hi, I was just wondering, if I switch current accounts do I have to phone all the companies I've got direct debits/standing orders with to let them know my new account details? That would be a bit of a pain in the neck!

Personal Finance apps (was: Money Dashboard apps closing down)
Just had an email from Money Dashboard stating they are shutting down the apps on 31 Oct and will be focusing on B2B. I found the website view really good for tracking and analysing my budgets and spend, and none of the alternatives offered a 'money dashboard' like it. Full email:

Sponsor requires full name printed on statement
As above Does anyone know which banks will print the account holders full name on the statement? Our daughter is moving to Japan but Gogo Nihon require the sponsors full name on the bank statement. Halifax say it's not possible even if he added his middle name to the account the statement would only use his first and last…

Accidental Overpayment to Credit Card Account - What to Do?
Last night, I made an error whilst trying to pay off my credit card balance online. When inputting the figure to transfer, I transposed two digits; that has resulted in a payment to the credit card account approximately £800 in excess of the then outstanding balance. I'm aware that the money hasn't 'disappeared' and will,…

First Direct FlexiLoan Cancellation
Hi. I have been with FD for maybe 30 years and had their FlexiLoan facility for maybe 20. I find it very useful, I can dip in and out of it instantly to cover unexpected expenses etc. They have messaged me to say they are cancelling this facility which will be a right pain for me as I rely on it a lot (by rely I mean the…

Hi All, I'm looking to get the Santander Edge Saver and adding 4k for the 6%. I see that I need an Edge current account do it. Advice/Suggestions for budgeting app
Hi there. In my spare time I am currently developing a mobile application to help people better manage their money through budgeting. I am taking inspiration from Martin Lewis’s budgeting tip in terms of averaging “one-off” payments throughout the year (I.e. paying off a car insurance annually etc). I will post screenshots…

SCAM SMS from VIRGIN MONEY re:registration of new device? Do not call 02070361903 - it's not them!
Just wasted 10 minutes trying to do the right thing having received this slippery bank impersonation text coupled with an equally slippery bank impersonation automated telephone service on the 02070361903 suggested in the text if I didn't recognise an attempt to register a new device: I became suspicious because although…

It's only on £1000 and only for a year, you have to switch with two direct debits, good…

IBAN child account to receive flight compensation
A 7 year old child needs a bank account to receive flight delay compensation. As the compensation goes to passenger named on ticket rather than the adult who paid for ticket.
