Scottish Bank Hoilday 2026
I have a Council Tax standing order that comes off on the first of the month, this January's one I expected it to be paid on the 5th as 1st and 2nd are Bank Holidays here, but the Royal paid it out on the 2nd. Just curious as to why they paid out then rather than Monday when banks are open again.

RBS Reward - how to add joint account holder?
Despite the Santander calculator suggesting I'd make a bit of a profit on their cashback I was actually making a loss so I've closed that down & going to switch to RBS for the direct debit reward. I changed my bog standard whatever-it-was-called account to a reward account & it said I could add a joint account holder to…

Cashback missing at Virgin Money
Hi, has anyone had cause to complain about missing cashback for purchases made with their debit card on Virgin cashback retail deals? I had a 10% back at Asda for £30+ purchases and it didn't track. Put the missing transaction form in on the app and got a very automated looking reply back saying my card wasn't registered.…

FairFX prepaid card
A word of caution for those considering to get a FairFX multi-currency card. Even though it is a Mastercard, you cannot use it with ApplePay or Curve. I presume it also doesn't work with GooglePay/SamsungPay. It also cannot be used at NS&I, Skipton, YBS, iWeb, HL etc as the card is not recognised as a UK-issued card. I…

My partner has signed up for exactly the same account, but registered for online banking straight away, without needing this code. Any idea why this…

Digital banks safety and reliability
Hi. I have a tendency to overthink and worry too much and this has been happening again recently with regards to digital banks. I’ve had a NatWest account for decades but due to interest rates being so low I looked elsewhere and a friend of mine suggested Chase UK. I’ve had that account for a while with no issues but…

My partner has been scammed TSB.
My partner has admitted to me tonight that he applied for a “marketing job” which essentially resulted in him sending money to various people via different apps. Tap tap send and lemfi. From his TSB current account. He has lost nearly £3000. We have spoken to TSB who have told us in the first instance to speak to these…

HSBC Premier changes
So I've had an email this morning about changes to the eligibility rules for HSBC Premier accounts. I know these changed for new customers last September, to the £100k income or savings thresholds but I'm sure they said that this would not affect existing customers. This morning's email directly contradicts this and states…
