Best bank for holiday money
Hi, I'm after a Bank account my husband & I can use for holiday money. We both share costs equally so would like an account the we can both put our spends into when we go away, so it's separate from our own individual accounts and we know how much we have left. We don't want a credit card, just an account we can put money…

FSCS - Lloyds Bank and Halifax Bank Linked
I regularly review my savings accounts. As I have noticed some recent bank takeovers, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is of particular interest. The FSCS is now £120,000 per person, per financial institution, so I was keen to establish which banks are linked and particularly which banks share a single…

Should PIN be sent by default?
I've had about 10 cards delivered in the last couple of months, every time the card & PIN has arrived in the same delivery. As many use apps and most of them you can get the PIN that way, wouldn't it be better in you need a PIN you can request it after card arrives.

Al Rayan enforcing minimum balance in accounts and closing immediately
A couple of days ago (14-May), I received a letter (dated 30-April) from Al Rayan informing me that unless I increased the balance of my two Everyday Saver accounts by 30-June, the accounts would be closed automatically and the funds sent to my nominated bank account. The minimum balance for these accounts has steadily…

LHV Bank?
I'm looking for an easy access account with a decent interest rate. From the list of current accounts on the main website, LHV Bank appears - it matches the BoE base rate for interest (currently 4%). It's App-only, which I can live with. But, when I look at the fees rates charges document, it seems to state that standing…

HELP! Two banks closed my accounts, but their cheques are of no use to me
Newbie in need of help here! I recently had my account closed by the Cooperative Bank, with almost no notice and without a full explanation, other than "breaching terms and conditions". I know that I have really poor credit rating, so I applied for a Basic account at HSBC, which was granted. However, as soon as I used my…

Duplicate switch payment?
Has anyone else had Barclays accidentally pay them the switching bonus twice? The only options for contacting them seem to be using a chatbot that doesn’t work, a message service that’s been broken for weeks, or sitting on hold on the phone while the years drift by. The only other alternative would be going into a Barclays…
