Has anyone tried applying for an ODE cashback card recently?

I just tried signing up for an ODE prepaid cashback card via the DiscountsForTeachers website, which describes the card as "completely free" to sign up for.  However, at the end of the application process, where it prompts you to preload your new card with cash, it tried to tag on a £4.99 "delivery and fulfillment fee".  This seemed sneaky so I aborted the application.  Has anyone else encountered this?

I had one through Health Service Discounts a few years back, cancelled before the annual fee kicked in after initial 12months.
Back then there was no delivery and fulfillment fee when joining.

I was just about to sign up myself and saw the £4.99 delivery and £2.99 annual fee. So decided it looked not worth the hassle. Would be fine if it was an app as don't want to pay for a physical card anyway when I pay for everything on my phone

Seen your comments as I found out the ‘completely free’ card had the £4.99 added at the end. Haven’t gone ahead as yet. Has anyone here found the Ode card worth the money?

Pluxee works with Google and Apple Pay. Presume Ode is the same (being just a rebadged Spree/Pluxee).
