Duplicate switch payment?
Has anyone else had Barclays accidentally pay them the switching bonus twice? The only options for contacting them seem to be using a chatbot that doesn’t work, a message service that’s been broken for weeks, or sitting on hold on the phone while the years drift by. The only other alternative would be going into a Barclays…

First Direct - what’s all the hype?
I finally decided to switch bank accounts from Santander to First Direct, and take advantage of the switching incentive. First Direct had been hyped as having excellent customer service and I had no reason to suspect otherwise since all the reviews seem to be pretty glowing on MSE. I opened the account mid July 2025 and…

Chase Cashback changing
I've just read some information on my Chase account that their cash back rewards are changing from 7 April 2025. Still £15 per month maximum cash back but only on groceries, fares and at petrol stations. My understanding is that purchases in currencies other than GBP won't earn cash back. Other cards do the above and may…

Hello. I’ve kept delaying opening up First Direct for the first ever time in the hope that both First Direct and HSBC have a bank switch offer going on at the same time and then open them both at the same time.
