Santander/Cahoot login issues?
Anyone having issues logging in? When I enter my PIN, the boxes go red. Same issue with both Cahoot and Santander, so I assume it's a problem their end. Annoying though as I need to transfer some funds out to make payments tomorrow

Changing Current Account
I have frequently changed accounts, however, latest offer from 1st Direct has condition that you have not had HSBC account since 2018. Because I've changed so many times, I can't remember if I have been with them. How do I check?

Changing current accounts
I received my latest enticing offer in the post this morning, promising me £175 if I moved my current account to Nationwide. My question is whether there is any downside to changing bank accounts, assuming that after the initial few weeks' hassle during the changeover everything goes smoothly. Specifically, does the fact…

CO-OP Bank Switch
I wanted to make use of the Co-op £175 switch incentive, so I applied for a current account on 10th September and the earliest they could offer me a switch date was 6th October. I applied for a savings account last week that still isn't showing on online banking, and I also applied for a credit card and am still awaiting…

If you switch current accounts, does your savings account switch too?
I'm thinking of switching current accounts to get the bonus the bank is offering, but would my savings account with my current bank be switched too? Would I be better off moving my savings to my current account before the switch and then open a new savings account with the new bank? Thanks

Depositing a cheque
Hi folks. I recently closed an account with Nationwide and they issued me a cheque for a large sum (over £1000). I'm struggling to see how I can deposit the sum with either of my 2 other accounts, one with Chase, the other with Virgin Money. Any advice, please? ps there is no way I'm going to be tempted into putting this…

Coop Bank Switch from Chase Bank
As part of switch offer to Cooperative bank, I have today mistakenly registered for online banking services and mobile app five days before the switch is due to complete on 30 May. Do you think I will still be able to get the bonus? I will still be depositing £1000, setting up 2 active DDs and making a minimum of 10…

Nationwide Flexdirect Acct
Does anyone know if you can have two (individual) of the above? I'm assuming not! First one opened in May with no switch offer available. No DD's. Email received offering switch, including into existing Flexdirect. I followed the process outlined in the email exactly, but they have opened a second Flexdirect. Wondering if…

Scam letter claiming to be from the Co-op Bank
I know the Co-op Bank like to send old fashioned letters, and clearly so do scammers. I received an initially convincing scam letter in the post claiming to be from my bank. It is attempting to get me to invest in a fixed rate bond only available via a Raisin intermediary. I was nearly caught off guard because it was a…

Ombudsman not upheld my complaint
In August 2024 I fell victim to a scam where someone rang me claiming to be from my bank. I questioned if he was genuinely from my bank and I was sent a text message which looked exactly like the ones I get from my bank. He told me my account had been compromised and advised me to make payments to somewhere while they…

Starling Bank pooped on by a gang of mangy seagulls
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. A gang of mangy seagulls clearly saw Starling Bank coming and have not only swooped down and stolen all their chips but then flew away and pooped on them from a great height as they left, squawking and laughing evilly. Yes, Starling have launched new branding, but they clearly have been ripped…

Paying Santander cheques in to the Post Office
My boss wants me to take a bunch of cheques to the PO and bank them. She swears blind I only need the paying in book. Says that is how she does it. Both the PO site and Santander site say you need a paying in slip and a bank branded envelope. Anyone have experience of this or an I going to look like an idiot at the post…

Anyone else gets often locked out of their TSB online banking ?
Opened my second TSB current account a month ago, now waiting for the switch bonus to be paid in December. I got locked out of their online banking in October, after modifying one of my existing standing orders (which eventually wasn't modified). Today I set up a new savings account with LLoyds and sent £400 to it from the…

Too soon?
Are there any pitfalls to switching accounts too frequently? I swapped my old Nationwide account to First Direct back in February and pocketed £175. I then swapped the FD account to Barclays a few weeks ago and got another £175 from them (less £5 monthly fee for Rewards which I've since cancelled). Kaching! But I've now…

New Barclays account to be closed, No reason given
I have recently opened Barclays account (less than 2 weeks back) and used Switch offer. During the application process, the only option was to open Premier account, I think based on the salary. I met all T&Cs of 2 Direct debits and pay in of £1500. I was planning to get my salary deposited in this new shiny Barclays…

HSBC and Foreign Cheques
I inherited Hong Kong shares 25 years ago and dividends (usually approx £350 annually) are always paid in Hong Kong dollar cheques. Barclays stopped taking foreign cheques so I opened an HSBC Global money account but they’re going to be stopping international cheques from 12 December. The Hong Kong company have said they…
