Barclays business bank account od removed with no notice
Hi, I have a longstanding business account with barclays and we have an agreed overdraft. We use the overdraft when we have a large project running for cashflow and it's never delinquent. We are currently just under a third of the overdraft balance. Our bank account was frozen on weds, it was their error and we managed to…

Fare Share Qualifying Conditions Other Nationwide Accounts
Hi All, Here's one to watch out for. I have qualifying accounts for the fair share and have enough money being paid into the account from a client. I wasn't aware that the client was paying from a Nationwide account and wouldn't know how to check this but this made my fair share payment void. I only knew why because I…

My brother has received money from my confused mother without going via the lpa
My mother is 82 and was diagnosed with Parkinson's about 8 years ago. 2 years ago she set up lpa's with me and my brother, redrafted her will, and, I discovered yesterday, released £40k income bond. I have never asked too much about any of this because she gets very snappy if I ask her about money, despite my being an…

Nat West Bank Account-Clarification Questions
Not clear on whether the £1250 that needs to be paid is a one off payment to qualify for the £125 payment (I know it can be made up of several payments) or do you then need to continue to pay £1250 every month. Martin Lewis website states £1250 per month. Again, not sure if this applies to the Reward account or the Select…

Refused Nationwide joint account- code Rd24?
Hi, I tried to apply online and was flatly denied, no reason given. After many calls to nationwide the only thing I can find out is that it is related to an application refusal code rd24. The person I spoke to said he thought it was a credit check issue, although not clear if it was me or other applicant (my wife) who had…

Halifax app showing Lloyds accounts and vice versa
Hi, Just logged into my accounts and now can see all accounts in either app so my Lloyds accounts show in the Halifax app and my Halifax accounts in Lloyds. I don't have accounts with BOS so can't check but I know that BOS and Halifax were able to be serviced in BOS branches. Is that something new or just an IT glitch?

Halifax Banking App no longer showing Scottish Widows Pension Balance
I use the Halifax app to check the balance & transactions on my Clarity Credit Card. For a long time now (many years) its also displayed the current balance of my Scottish Widows Pension (this happened automatically - nothing I signed up for / enabled). Its now disappeared from the App this weekend - has anyone else…

how does switching affect my credit score?
Having just learnt of the insane salary boost that may go to the Nationwide group's ceo, I've determined to work harder to get what I can back. A good place to start might be to get as many of the sweeteners offered by banks to switch accounts. But then I read to my annoyance that by doing so, my credit score could be…

Son studying in Oz for a year - how does he sort his banking?
My son is studying abroad for a year. He has some savings in a UK account, plus still gets his maintenance loan. He is also hoping to find some part-time work in Australia (in accordance with his student Visa). What's the best way to transfer money from his UK account and manage the relationship between his UK and…

Barclays Premier account opening/switching for offers and HSBC Premier account
I've had a HSBC premier account for years (like 10+) and use it to receive my monthly salary and pay some direct debts from (insurance, savings standing orders, any credit card monthly payments, amex etc...). I also have a Halifax current account (I think of this as the "House" account) which I transfer into at the start…

Santander Current Account Questions
I have the above current account - no loans and no overdraft, no applications and no renewals due. They did a "soft" search on my credit file out of the blue and found my mortgage listed on there. They have asked me to send that mortgage statement from another bank to them even though each month the mortgage is paid from…

Monthly Household Budget
Hi, I'm looking for some advice/views and hopefully this is the most appropriate section to post. I've been looking at our household incomings and outgoings per month and looking to be a wee bit more organised with our spending. We need a new car and I'm unsure how far to stretch. My wife is a bit more cautious than I am…
