Stuck in a loop opening Barclays account
I’m trying to open a Barclays account via their app to get the switch offer - I’ve tried twice now and reach the same roadblock.
It reaches the final stage then says “We need to check a few more things” and I should come back later.
A few hours later I get a text message saying “we’ve completed our checks, login to the app to find out more”. But when I login to the app it’s still stuck in the same spot.
Anyone have any experience of this? Thanks

Phone them and ask what is going on.
Applying multiple times for a current account isn't a good idea, and may get your applications flagged up for anti-fraud checks. Speak to a human and explain you only want one account, and ask them to sort out whatever the problem is.

Dunno but Ive messed it up, I have a Barclays mortgage and after opening a current account with them, and doing the switch, I then saw a message on the website saying you needed to delete the Barclays app and reinstall it before applying for a current account and they would re-add the mortgage back on.
So about to ring them now to cancel because if I am not getting £200 I am not interested, they like to make it tricky dont they

You might just be stuck because your mortgage "profile" is getting confused with your new banking profile. If you also had a Barclaycard credit card then that can make it complicated too.
Ring them up and explain, they get this kind of contention all the time.

A while back, I had a similar issue. I was then advised to try online rather than with the app, and that did work.
Though some time later, it transpired the original issues were caused by me having 2 Barclays profiles, and they needed to merge them to resolve remaining issues.
I think you need to talk to a person, in Branch or on the phone.1 -
They've already lost me as a customer if I have to phone them up

Snap. Just phoned them and they cant apply the £200 new customer credit because I didnt delete the app first.
Absolutely absurd, Ive never had a Barclays bank account in my life. Closed the account whilst I was on the phone too.

They're telling you something about the quality of their service, you already know the answer really - is it likely to get better?
