PayPal transactions £4,000 unauthorised
I have done online gaming for ages and never had any problems, then somehow £4,000 of transactions went out of my PayPal account from the online game I have previously used as well as a couple of other transactions.
I set up a dispute with PayPal and within a day they closed the case in my favour and are refunding the money.
A couple of questions...how has this happened?
Does it mean my PayPal got hacked or the gaming website I used or both?
Also who ends up paying for those transactions when it's refunded by PayPal, is the gaming site likely to do a recharge as they won't be paid surely?
Also it makes me want to close my PayPal account as from googling this seems quite common to have fraud on accounts!

Pay Pal will claim the money back from retailer. So retailer can still come after you if they feel it is you that made the transaction.
how is more likely to be retailer, or it could be you had responded to a phishing email & gave details that way.
