CIFAS help
Really looking for some advice here. I've had a phone call from Santander today to inform me that they've taken the decision to close my bank account due to information provided by a third party bank. They've then directed me to CIFAS which is obviously very worrying. My other bank account at the moment remains unaffected…

Account switching for bonuses
Those of you who have accounts set up just for getting switching bonuses, how do you go about meeting the "2 direct debits" requirement, is there a trick to meet this easily instead of having to create two genuine direct debits? (apologies if this is a stupid question, but if you don't ask, you never find out)

Savings account with "spaces" equivalent - replacement for Starling
I've used a Starling personal account for a few years and really appreciate the "spaces" option so I can save for specified things within it. They have now stopped offering interest on this account, having introduced a savings account that offers interest. But now I've opened one of those I've found you can't have spaces…

HyperJar - is it a con?
I signed up to HyperJar after reading about it on the (excellent!) MSE site, however my experience with them has been less than fantastic. Last week my virtual card running through Google Pay was declined repeatedly, leaving me in an embarassing situation unable to pay for my bill (yes I normally carry another card as…

DD set up on account data breach?
Has anyone else been affected by this? I was notified today by my bank that a debt collection company had set up a DD on my account. The reference relates to my T V licence which is completely up to date and I have never owed on it. I called the debt company and they said there had "been a glitch" and to ignore it. Surely…

Moving Virgin Money account to Nationwide
As you may remember, Nationwide is taking over Virgin Money. I have a Virgin account and, eventually it seems, the Virgin accounts will be subsumed into Nationwide and - I guess - become Nationwide accounts. At the moment though - and this is what I am doing - Nationwide pay £175 (conditions apply) if you move your current…

New main bank account - Santander/Lloyds/Nationwide
Hello, Newbie here. I've been looking to switch my Barclays main account into a different one that may be more generous for cashbacks on spending and decent savings rate.
