Help! Bank Account Switch Hacks for Keeping Saved Payment Details
Hi there, I’m about to do a bank account switch to cash in on an offer. I’ve only done it once before, way back in 2017. The reason I don’t do it more often is that I have so many saved banking contacts (child care providers, window cleaners, friends etc) that I dread having re-enter all that information. I’m a busy…

Santander glitch (solved)
Hi everyone Just wondered if anyone can see their accounts online? For some reason mine have all disappeared, the app and website both telling me I don't have any accounts with them. I noticed this last night but thought it would be solved by the morning. There doesn't appear to have been any communication about issues and…

Virgin Money Fraud Team
I need some help since yesterday Virgin put a block on my current account, despite 2 calls yesterday & 2 today I'm getting nowhere with them. The 2 calls I've already made today the result is I've failed security which doesn't make any sense because I gave them a list of transactions I made yesterday, I know there was a…

First Direct Identity Checks
One big drawback of switching to First Direct is that unlike most other banks they seem unable to complete electronic identity checks instead requiring copies of certified paper documents. Seems strange for a purely online bank and in the current climate its not easy to find someone in a position to complete certification!

NatWest reward account - how quickly can I take the 1250 payment out?
Can any NatWest rewards regulars in here answer a question? You have to pay in 1250 a month to qualify for rewards, but does it have to stay in for 24 hours like it does when doing their switch bonus, or can it go out again same day?

New Bank Account for an Association - Advice Please
I recently discovered that, last year, our residents' assocation's bank account was closed by the bank because it hadn't been used for some time. I am in the process of claiming the funds that were in the account and would like to open a new residents' assocation account for the funds to go into. The old account was set-up…

Santander Edge with 25£ Amazon voucher
In April, I opened 2 Santander Edge accounts through a MSE offer which included a £25 Amazon voucher per account to be paid within 3 months. I should have received the voucer on 2-3 July. Here's the message I received in April when I opened the accounts: "Thanks for registering.IMPORTANT: To be eligible for the Gift Card…

How to cancel recurring debit card payment to Apple
I have tried to login to my Apple account to cancel Apple TV after resetting the password (which was a major task in itself without an Apple device 😫), but an error message keeps coming up. Their support team haven't been any help. I can't see another way to cancel the subscription (there is no option in the Apple TV app…

Certifying ID docs for a bank
I had a Barclays business account in my name for an association that I am involved with. The account wasn't used for some time and so the bank closed it. In order for them to send me the funds that were in the account I have to send, among other things, certified copies of two pieces of ID. It says these can be certified…

Is Santander reneguing again on 'free business banking forever'?
A previous thread on this subject was closed about 10 years ago after Santander announced a U-turn in response to the outcry caused by their proposed charges for business bank accounts inherited from Abbey, who had promised free business banking forever. I have had a letter suggesting they are trying again, this time by…

Lloyds and Halifax apps crashing (iOS) NOW FIXED
I’ve experienced trouble with both the Lloyds and Halifax apps this morning. Halifax lets me in momentarily, so I see the balances, but Lloyds doesn’t get that far. As Lloyds goes through the log in process the app shuts down. I’ve since checked my accounts via the web, so there’s no urgency, but I wanted to see whether…

0% overdraft approval when moving to grad account (with already very high credit utilisation)
I joined university late and so when I opened my student account I didn't get an overdraft like most other students for some reason. In my final year I got an 18 month 0% credit card with £4K limit which I have had to use as I got minimum student loan and no help from family. Next month my student current account is being…

Paying my tax bill from Santander
I need to have a little rant. Trying to pay my tax bill which is due by Thursday this week. For convenience, I thought I use "Pay by Bank" which is what HMRC call Open Banking payments. I can do this from just about every bank, and even from some Building Societies and Electronic Money Institutions but not from Santander,…

Timing of pension payments
Dear All My husband and I each receive a State pension and a Teachers' Pension. None are huge, but we should have enough to cover us from month to month. I'm trying to work out some kind of a budget, but the 4 pensions all come in at different times of the month. As a result, I'm finding it really difficult to work out…

Have you ever closed a current account or savings account for ethical reasons?
I'm debating whether to close bank accounts due to one banks decision to withdraw from a net zero group and another due to their US parent company withdrawing dignity and equality policies.
