Anyone else gets often locked out of their TSB online banking ?
Opened my second TSB current account a month ago, now waiting for the switch bonus to be paid in December. I got locked out of their online banking in October, after modifying one of my existing standing orders (which eventually wasn't modified). Today I set up a new savings account with LLoyds and sent £400 to it from the…

Too soon?
Are there any pitfalls to switching accounts too frequently? I swapped my old Nationwide account to First Direct back in February and pocketed £175. I then swapped the FD account to Barclays a few weeks ago and got another £175 from them (less £5 monthly fee for Rewards which I've since cancelled). Kaching! But I've now…

Club Lloyds switching
Is anyone else having issues with switching to the Club Lloyds account with a £200 switching incentive. I cannot get an appointment in branch anywhere locally, I cannot open a joint account with my wife on line or on the phone. Apparently I will need to open a savings account, one each in our respective names, and then I…

LBG closing all my accounts on 18th May
As it says on the tin really. Today I've received 3 letters dated 15/3/23, from Lloyds, Halifax and BOS telling me that they will close my account 65 days from the date of the letter. I'm trying to work out why they have decided to do this. I suspect it may be related to one or a combination of the following: * I am…

Postgrad Banking
I've noticed that lots of banks offer great deals to undergraduates or those doing courses of more than 2 years (like 0% overdrafts). I'm going back to uni as a mature student to do a 1 year postgrad. Does anyone know if any bank would accept a 1 year course to apply for a student account?

I'm looking for a straightforward card that I can load up with money in order to pay on the internet or in shops without having to use my bank card or credit card and thus hand over my details.Paypal seemed the obvious answer but it and similar companies like revolut are too complicated, expecting you to 'manage all your…

NatWest + RBS £175 switching offers June 2025
New switching offers from NatWest and RBS, see below. Terms seem to be more or less identical between the two banks, so I've listed the T&Cs for the NatWest offer for reference. Biggest difference between past offers is that it seems to apply only to "new and existing customers who don’t hold a NatWest/RBS current account…

HSBC Currency Account Exorbitant Fees
Hi all, has anyone else had this issue? I set up a EURO HSBC current account to receive and pay Euros within the EU because their website says they don't charge any fees on these Euro transfers. Today I transferred 10,000 Euros from my HSBC euro account to my FX trading account held with The Currency Cloud (a UK Euro bank…

Looking for advice on a simple food budget tracker I’m testing
Hi everyone, I’m trying to get better at keeping my grocery costs under control — but I always seem to overspend. Snacks and impulse buys sneak into the trolley, and at the end of the week I’m not sure where the money’s gone. I’ve used a few budgeting apps, but most of them felt too complicated — they track everything…

Budgeting Spreadsheet - Advice Needed Please
Hi, I've modified a budgeting spreadsheet I found online so it matches my needs. I have a different column for each month. As I get paid on the last Friday of each month I'm wondering if i should include that as 'wages' for the following month as it seems more relevant that way. Thoughts please? What do most people do?

Nat West Bank Statements
Any one know what DEBIT (all upper case) is used for on a Nat West bank statement, its obviously for monies going out but it's not a Standing Order, Direct Debit, ATM or Card transaction. Is it something done in Branch perhaps? Its not in the list of statement codes.
