Barclays - Error Code 1176 - Locked out from your On-line Accounts
Hi... thought a couple of work arounds to this issue might be of help. The IP address of the device your using may not be recognised and hence Barclays system may lock your account to protect it. But, this may not be the only reason for
this error code 1176 to arise. If you have made a transaction on your on-line account…

Community bank account for residents association
I am the secretary of our local residents association, a non-profit organisation whose only function is to collect an annual charge from all residents in our street to pay the costs of grass cutting and maintaining green spaces. The total annual turnover is usually around £2000. We receive about 40 payments per year from…

Euro account with debit card and IBAN
Hi everybody. I need to open a Euro account which has a debit card and will allow me to send and receive money in Euros with a European IBAN. Starling says "they are not accepting new applications." They say they will be "soon" but they've been saying that since for months and months. So any other suggestions? Thank you. DC

Alternative to MoneyHub
MoneyHub is no longer available as they are advising us to move to WPS Advisory. ETA. That although I initially had an issue with the new app - that was due to the settings on my phone and not the app. I received some great online help and advice from Leah, one of their team. I would certainly recommend WPS now. First…

Monthly Money Merry-go-round
I posted this in another thread but I'll do it here too and ask the question what do others do? What am I missing out on? My current merry-go-round sends £2520 into Lloyds, then the same into Halifax 1, leave £500, the rest to NatWest, leave £10, the rest to Halifax 2, leave £500, the rest to RBS, leave £10, send the rest…

Best cashback/points from a debit card for big purchase?
Not very money saving I know, but have treated myself to a new car as a retirement present. Got Blue Light discount at least! Paid the deposit by my partner's cashback credit card, but I'm pretty certain that it won't be possible to use that for the balance (around £25K). Does anyone have any suggestions on any particular…

Lloyds now moving charities to fee-paying Charity Accounts
I'm the treasurer for a very small registered charity looking after a village's recreation site. I received a letter this week informing us that our Lloyds Treasurers' Account will change to a new fee-paying Charity Account in November 2025. This appears to follow on from Lloyd's decision to change the Treasurers' Accounts…

Santander Edge internaltional money transfer rates
Hello, My wife regularly sends money home to her family in Malaysia. She has used Nationwide in the past but is thinking of swicthing to Wise. Some friends use Santander Edge which waives the transfer fee (but probably includes a markup on the exchange rate). Can I find out what the current Santander exchange rates and…

Targeted Barclays Switch Offer £75 + £75 - April 2025
Did anyone receive and take up a targeted Barclays current account switch offer that was sent out at the end of April? It said that the initial £75 would be paid in either May or June, depending on when the switch occurred. I started my switch the day I received the offer (which was the last day or so in April) but have…

Chase Bank Round-Up
If my Chase current account balance is £11.76, and I spend £11.03 on something, should I presume the round-up will be just 73p? I ask because Chase says that it rounds up to the nearest pound, which would be 97p, and I obviously don't want to end up with a debit balance.

Atom Bank Interest Drop
Just had an email from Atom saying they are reducing the savings rate from 4.6% to 4% on 22nd August. Why the massive drop ? I was expecting a drop of 0.25%. I recently moved a large chunk of my savings to them but on 1st September it will be coming out again !

Santander App push notifications
Hi, I have just completed a bank switch to Santander, the app is decent and allows me to link other accounts I have (other than Chase) but the biggest gripe I have, why doesn’t Santander send push notifications for payments in and out?! Surely this isn’t that hard when my other bank - Barclays and other banks - Chase,…

Lloyds Premier Account - Perks
I have a Club Lloyds account. I pay in £2k at month (not a salary), withdraw it and I qualify for a perk, for which I choose Disney+ I've noticed they have a Premier account (not Premium). It's £15 a month, you get the existing perk, 1% back on spending up to £10 a month, and perfect FX rates. There is also another Freebie…

Nat West & RBS Rewards
I’ve held a joint NW Rewards account for a while but recently opened sole NW and RBS Reward accounts too. So far, of the two new sole accounts, only the RBS one has paid out direct debits (on 1st August), but when I log on to My Rewards via the RBS app it says I have £10 of rewards pending. This is made up of 4 pending…

Open banking providers recommendations?
Hi All, I am interested in trying out open banking, but I would like to know if anyone could recommend a provider they've used? Also, how secure is open banking and has anyone experienced issues, in terms of data being accessed that wasn't consented to or issues with scammers? Thanks
