I didn’t go to Nandos.

I had 2 attempts to spend £49 from my Chase account yesterday luckily I didn’t have the funds available. Below is my chat with Chase support. At the moment I have frozen the card. I’m not sure Chase advice is right or practical.

It's almost certainly a bot engaging in this chat.

Doubt it given the timestamps. Just a poorly trained person, perhaps someone who doesn't understand what Nando's is and is instead treating it like an ecom retailer.

The language used indicates it's a bot (these are standard blocks of text that could frankly apply to anything) or someone who doesn't have English as a first language...

"I highly advise to contact directly the merchant" is a very weird sentence construction.

A person would say "have you contacted Nando's about these transactions?" Or "I would advise that you contact Nando's"

Don't think so, a bot wouldn't make so many grammatical errors.

This is very poor of chase. I had similar with RBS and HSBC and they cancelled the cards at once no questions asked. Chase really are still learning and perhaps not ready for the big time. They seem to be trying to avoid taking responsibility for anything.

I really don’t know if that’s a bot or not, but either way they are rubbish.

There's a difference between a bot and a human using canned responses. I suspect this is the latter.

I’ve changed the card details in the app, the physical card has no numbers on it. I don’t think I need to change that. I don’t remember the last time I used it.

Feels to me it was a non uk based real person replying.

Nando's can be bought online & collected or delivered. You can also buy cards.
