Stalemate On Paypal With Phone Number Change

I have not used Paypal for some time and I have forgotten my password. I have also changed my mobile number since I last logged in. I have gone through and tried all of the "forgot password" steps, including verification codes emailed, correctly answering the security questions and at the end of every option they insist on a final check by sending another verification code by text or whatsapp to my old phone number. There are no other options, and there is no way to change the phone number without logging in. I have tried joining the community forum for help, but guess what, you need to be logged in to join. I tried joining with my partner's details and you can no longer post a message on the help forum. You cannot email them and to message them you need to be logged in. The only other option, which I am reluctant to try, is to phone an 01 number and they tell you to be logged to your account before you call them!
Any advice would be appreciated.

You've no option but to contact support and explain it. If you're lucky, and you have half a day to spare, they'll sort it out. I don't advise multiple accounts; they are not allowed and both will get banned if discovered.0
