Missing Bank Accounts
Has anyone had a similar issue with Nationwide UK. I have two accounts of my own and two accounts from when my children were younger that have “disappeared” from my Nationwide app. I raised this over a week ago and they have still not been able to tell me where the accounts and money are (over £40k in total). They keep saying they are investigating and understand my frustration. I had no prior warning and have never had an explanation as to why this has happened. My daughters Uni accommodation needs to be paid and the deposit to secure next years accommodation and I am unable to pay because Nationwide UK have removed my accounts. How can a well known bank like this behave in such a way?

Have you been in to a branch and asked them to check if the accounts are still active? They might not be showing in your app, but I'd be very surprised if they've 'disappeared'. I take it you have the account numbers and sort codes?

How long since they were last used?
Sounds like they have been dormant & not used for a long time

Were the accounts in your name or your childrens ? If the latter, would have they been removed from your app once they reached adulthood ?

It is more likely to be a technical issue and nothing to do with 'behaviour'.

Firstly, don't panic. They haven't "removed" your accounts - they'll still be there (along with the money), they're just not currently visible in your app
You say "two accounts from when my children were younger" - were these accounts opened in your children's names? (i.e. your children were the named account holders) - with you having parental control over them?
Also, you say "My daughters Uni accommodation needs to be paid" - this implies that your daughter is now at least 18 years old?
If so, it may just be that your parental control over the accounts have been removed, as your children are now considered old enough to manage their own accounts.
