NatWest online login security question asking for non existent character
Was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Normally I login online without problems but twice now over the past 7 days it has presented me with the security question requiring three characters from my password
Only problem is MY PASSWORD IS LESS THAN 9 CHARACTERS.
This persisted over repeated failed attempts (using many options for the 9th char) and even after clearing browser cookies, then switching browser to Opera, then moving to an iPhone and using Safari. Only cured after giving up and coming back after some hours.
Something fundamentally wrong somewhere at NatWest. The app lets me in okay but that is of course totally different code to the website.

I can't find it now but there's a recent thread where two other people said they had the same issue. The solution was to call NatWest and have it reset.

Thanks. Somewhat glad it was not just me but others have had the problem. Yes I did call and have it reset and had to re-register and chose new security answers. Lets hope that fixed it.

I've had this problem a couple of times with RBS (part of NatWest) but the issue was that my fat fingers had mistyped my login and so it was looking for someone else's password.
