Best home budgeting programme please.
Hi all. Many years ago I used microsoft money and then transferred to Home Accountz. That is now going to end at next computer update so I need a new programme. Please help. I like to keep a running record of all my transactions. Some which are regular transactions and across several accounts ie savings & current accounts. If there is something that will do that and even better automatically copy all my current data across that would be amazing. I tried one programme which said it would take the data across but it would not do anything. I don't mind if it is a small payment ideal a one off or small annual payment to get something good and reliable.
I'm using a Mac in case it makes any difference

I would recommend HomeBank…

I still use MS Money 2005 UK. Still works fine on a Windows 11 machine.

I'm using a Mac as well but run it on a Windows 11 virtual machine. It might be possible to run it using Wine but I haven't tried.
For Mac there's a personal finance database called MoneyWiz.

Two suggestions:
- I use, and recommend, AceMoney (https://www.mechcad.net/). It costs about £40 (one-off, not a subscription). This is available for Windows or MacOS.
- MoneyManager EX (https://moneymanagerex.org/). Free, but I'm not sure that it's available for MacOS - the App Store says "Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS". The Windows version might work in a Wine bottle or a Windows VM.

MMEX does work for macos, if you click the download button on link above it tells you which platforms it runs on.

That's good. Thanks. I'm not a Mac user, so I've no relevant personal experience.

I'm on Windows 11 and since the last update yesterday, some of the features no longer work on the MS Money 2025. I.e. connecting a bank account which is now 'temporarily unavilable'?

What are you trying to do? I only ever tried that a couple of times e.g., downloading account transactions from Nationwide but I didn't think that had worked in a long time.
