No Sky Broadband For 9 Days!
We have had no Sky internet for 9 days now. This is "apparently" due to an outage. Sky posted a notice about it on the 18th of Feb but have given no further updates. I have written to them via email and on their social media but they just refer me to the same network status page, with that same old notice from the 18th.…

Post Office/ She'll Merger
My daughter is moving home on the 6th of March. I put an order in to transfer her broadband to her new property (as I'm the account holder) but have received a call back today and they informed me due to the merger they are not able to do this for the next few weeks! My daughter doesn't have sky or virgin and relies on her…

Who's responsibility for damage to property - phone line?
On Friday 18th Feb 2022 during the storms that the UK were experiencing, a tree in my next door neighbour's driveway fell down. With it, my phone cable (which provides my broadband internet) was ripped out and consequently where it was attached to my property (fixed there before I bought it back in 2014) took some of my…

BT
Hi . My BT Broadband /landline is increasing to over £40 a month and I would like to reduce it or change supplier. My problem is that I live in a poor reception area in an old house with thick walls and need BTs ‘ booster’ system to get acceptable broadband coverage. What are my options to reduce this payment or move…

NOW Broadband CPI+ Price Increase ?
I’m currently with Plusnet for phone and broadband and my contract
is due for renewal next month, it's looking like the Plusnet renewal price will be much too expensive this year so
I will most probably be moving to NOW. To date it looks like NOW is one of very few providers that have not
yet implemented a CPI+ price…

Leasehold Flat vs Gigabit Fibre Install - Where Do I Stand?
I've owned my leasehold apartment for around 3.5 years now. It's ground floor with a private garden, behind the garden is a main road. I've been looking into upgrading to to FTTP for faster speeds, as with BT I can only get up to 72gbps which is becoming quite slow and unreliable for me (I work with high quality videos…

BT broadband
We have BT broadband and line rental . It is costing just over £41 a month with a price rise due in March. Our contract doesn’t end until October’22. If we switched now how much would BT charge us ? Is it worth it. We are n our 70s and need to save money where we can especially with energy costs spiralling. PS can’t seem…

Broadband comparison
I find it difficult to use the comparisons given as these only seem to give a straight comparison using speed but don’t seem to take into account other benefits. For example I get cloud and antivirus protection, which if not included would have a significant cost. The comparisons on MSE should include these benefits

Virgin renewal - Broadband + Landline + Television - how much to haggle renewal down?
A customer of mine (I do his I.T.) has been with Virgin for a while for Broadband + Landline + Television - and has just come out of contract - so presumably will get charged the full amounts now. I don't know the total amount he is paying currently (or what exact packages he is on) - but APPROXIMATELY how much should he…

talk talk offer
i found an offer on here back in November for talktalk phone and faster broadband. free uk landline calls and a £75 amazon voucher after 90 days. I have today been in contact with talktalk as i have had to purchase a boost to get free uk calls, and am being told that i am not able to receive this offer, as there were…

Vodaphone Broadband Superfast Line Problems
I'm looking for a little advice as I'm tired of going around in circles. We took out Vodaphone's service in October as our prefered provider doesn't cover our area. Had I known that the settings to set up parental controls were so complex I wouldn't have bothered! But we have a much more frustrating problem. The connection…

Virgin Meia - leaving before services are installed
I signed up to Virgin Media 2 weeks ago and had an absolute nightmare with them - they reckon there are some cables outside which need to be repaired which will take 6-8 weeks as a first issue. Had terrible customer service with them - missed calls and vague messages, wrong notes on my account, 2x Agents hung up on me, on…

TalkTalk Keep Sending Me New Routers, For Free, Do I Have To Use Them, Which Is Best?
Some years ago I purchased a TP Link Archer D7 Gigabit Modem router, A C 1750 Wireless dual band router from JL. It's given good and faithful service and the two sticky up aerials look good. B) TalkTalk have sent a DSL 3782/TT and a Huawei DG804/W-2.T5 TT now say I must connect a new router by Monday because Openreach are…

How do I leave VM Fibre but keep my phone number?
Hi, about 15 months ago I left NOW Broadband and had VM installed via an MSE offer. The offer period ends in a couple of months and, as VM is so expensive, I will probably be going elsewhere at that point (I will try and negotiate a new deal with VM but I want an exit plan if that doesn't work). I understand that if you go…

Virgin Media Fibre speeds
I have VM 1gig fibre which I connect to wirelessly which comes with a 550mb guarantee for the wired connection. I need to use a VPN for work purposes. I accept that the VPN reduces speed by 10 - 20% which brings it down to about 440 - 456mb, I also accept that being wireless it will reduce the speed a bit more. However I…

Copper Network Replacement
As I am sure most are aware Openreach are gradually getting rid of the copper wire network and replacing it with FTTP (fibre to the premises) as Virgin use now, this means that BT and all the broadband providers that use BT’s copper network will be providing FTTP only. I am currently with Virgin and have their 1Gig fibre,…

Haggling new price outwith contract without leaving.
Has anyone managed to get a decent price from BT without leaving? On one hand don't want to leave as never had any problems but on the other can save about £7.50(ish) per month by going to Vodafone or Now TV. Cannot have any downtime either due family members still working from home, so changeover (if I leave) would have…

Virgin Media disconnections
Virgin are almost laughably dishonest. They're employing tactics that verge on fraud to stop people leaving. Forgive the long story, but let me explain, in case it can help anyone else. I got a letter saying my price would go up by £3.25/month, and I could cancel with no disconnection fee. So, since I found a better deal…
