bt line rental saver

I have complained to bt about the price increase applied to the line rental I have already paid for .  They closed the complaint before it was confirmed but on the phone said they were unwilling to do anything about it. It seems BT have accepted being in the wrong so why are they not prepared to do the decent thing and make the necessary correction? Has the MSE got a view on this? Do I need to go to the ombudsman to try and correct this issue?

    I have had the exact same conversation with BT on the phone this morning.
    They told me there was nothing I could do about it other than register my feedback. 

    How can they retrospectively increase the price of something I've already bought?
