Fibre to the property (FTTP) - inconvenience
My road and pavement is currently being dug up (apparently by "Virgin") for fibre - I am assuming that Virgin will not let other providers use their fibre - so we will have to go through the inconvenience over and over again when BT/TalkTalk and the others go through the procedure ?Why can't someone realise that the fibre…

Advice renewing Sky broadband price/deal
Hi Guys, I must admit I’m not the most tech savvy, but I’m looking to reduce a few household bills and I’m looking at how much I currently pay Sky for my broadband - and if I can get a better deal/price elsewhere. I’ve been with Sky for years - I spoke with them on Thursday and they have advised I currently pay £39.50 a…

Virgin Media ludicrous proposal
I pay £44/month for Virgin Media. Now they want to reduce that to £38/month but increase it annually by the RPI + 4%. What kind of business plays such a silly game? Should I take them up on their offer? Presumably they can increase the £44 if they want, so I suppose I should. But the fact that they are making such an offer…

Broadband issues
We recently took out a contract with Vodafone for broadband and its working well apart from we are unable to schedule blocking our children's devices on the router. We can only block all Internet access throughout and have to do this manually. I presumed all providers allow this all our previous providers have. To leave…

How to get cheaper virgin deal or go elsewhere
Hi, Have been with virgin since they started in this area. A long time. Couple of years ago, I managed to get my tv/phone /broadband package down to £55 per month. As my deal finishes with them soon they informed me it would go up to £75. I haggled and got it down to £69 but still a fair increase. Other than changing the…

Sky broadband £70 voucher
Took out this package through MSE on 21/06/23. Rang sky CS but they are just fobbing me off. I took a pic of the screen with the £70 voucher on it when I signed up. Did anyone else take this broadband deal and get their voucher?

BT Sport
Plusnet added CPI plus 3.9% (14.4%) as with many internet providers from the 1st April. I was charged £10 for BT Sport for which they added the 14.4%. However, when they discontinued BT Sport from July they have only taken £10 off the bill, so customers are still paying the 14.4% on the £10. Has anyone else had the same…

I was offered cheaper business fibre than customer - is there a catch?
I've been offered 12 months discounted, so £15 a month on a business fibre account, so total over 20 months would be ((12*15)+(12*30)) = £540 (this includes VAT) compared to £24, or (24*24) for £576. Is there any catch to this? Is there any reason to go with the domestic/personal account at £24 a month? CPI changes for…

Virgin offered 1GB for £61/month, yes/no?
My contract is about to end I currently pay £83/month for 2 boxes, full tv pack including Sky and BT sports,M350 broadband & landline. I don’t want their TV or Phone anymore and they offered me £61/month for 1GB or £56/month for M500. If I agree 1GB they’ll cancel my TV & Phone immediately but if I take M500 it’s 30 days…

Switching providers technical detail
Hi all, my 24 month broadband contract with BT was ending soon so I called to cancel as I found a much better deal with Vodafone. BT required 30 days notice to cancel, so my service with them ends on 20th November, however I paid £19 to cancel my contract early (it actually ends mid-December, I thought mid-November, but…

When to switch provider
Just a quick question (hopefully)My contract with Plusnet is up in a month's time and they have informed me that my price will be almost doubling. When is the ideal moment for me to sign up to a new provider? I don't want to get a fine for switching too early (while I am still in contract) - but if I wait until my contract…

I'm currently with Sky broadband, but I'm considering cancelling and buy a mobile router TP-link 6400 or something similar. Couple of questions 1 Are these routers suitable for permanent use in the home or are they only for odd occasions 2 How do I top up the sim card? Will I have to transfer the sim card to my phone and…

What are my broadband options
Looking at the MSE broadband finder tool, it gives me different contract options to when I go on the city fibre website - some of the providers on the city fibre website don't seem to be on the MSE tool as far as I can tell (looking at the price range for a minimum speed). Does anyone know if they are different?

Broadband and mobile connectivity
We’re with Sky and their broadband area checker suggests we should be ok for 4G, even 5G, at home. My iPhone 7, partners old Motorola and the iPad suggest otherwise, regularly losing internet connection and most of the time we’re only being able to receive incoming calls via WhatsApp; the issue with the calls is a…

CityFibre and Broadband providers.
I am getting totally and utterly lost in the mire of TLAs and FLAs being slapped around when discussing this new fibre connection. Examples are FTTP FTTC. Who knows or cares what the blue blazes these mean? So maybe someone on here can help please? I am 84, spent all my life in the computer connectivity world and am left…

Are there any broadband providers without CPI increases?
Are there any broadband providers without CPI increases? I am currently with TalkTalk and have a contract with them until November this year. After that, unless I am affected with today's news and can cancel earlier, are there any other providers who do not have in their terms a CPI + x% annual increase? I keep seeing…
