Broadband near exchange

I currently have BT fttc broadband 80/20, I would like faster broadband but I live right next to the exchange and cannot get any other services. I was told many years ago that if you live next to the exchange you have no choice. Is there anything I can do?

See if you can get FTTP - Fibre To The Premises. If you're in an FTTP priority area you won't be able to order anything else on FTTC, you'll have to stay with your existing provider BT for that.Proximity to the exchange is irrelevant.0

Exchange only lines here were upgraded to connect to new cabs some years ago.

There were historic issues with Exchange Only lines and FTTC - there was no Cabinet. But you are on FTTC so obviously not an issue now. Being close to the exchange won't stop you getting Openreach FTTP when it becomes available0
