BT WiFi app

I am getting really frustrated with WiFi access when out and about. I have been with BT for a few years. I have the BT WiFi app on my phone, and previously it connected seamlessly to BT WiFi without the need to enter user name and password every time. Since the rebrand to EE, the BT WiFi app does not seem to work, and when connecting to EE you are presented with a web form where account name and password needs to be entered every time. If in a shopping centre, for example, if the WiFi drops out, it doesn't even reconnect automatically....if it's EE, you have to go through the password process again. I, like many others judging by the questions in BT forums, have tried to get info from BT about this, but there is never an answer. I tried to ask the "chatline" again this morning to see if there was a new WiFi app, but the guy wouldn't/couldn't answer the question, and instead gave me a link to the familiar sign in page and asked me to "see if this works" 😤 Do others have the same problem, and is there an EE app that serves the same purpose as the BT WiFi app ?

The BT Wifi App appears to have been discontinued in favour of EE Wifi and the need to login each time seems to be by design.
