British Gas won't accept complaint
Last year I had a complaint with British Gas over their provision of my services and delays in having meters working correctly. This was resolved via the ombudsman and all has been well since October. I am on the EV tariff with cheap electric midnight to 5am. My January bill shows 0 overnight usage. I have been charging my…

Demand flexibility scheme
First winter with smart meters so bear with me. I am with EON next but have received an invitation this morning by email from LOOP to join their "turn down and save" scheme. Do i have to wait for EON to invite me to join or can i use LOOP? How does it work? Is one apps scheme better than anothers?

Should I fix my energy now?
Currently with e.on Next Pledge Tracker 12m V2 Fixed term ends 14/09/2024 24.37 p/kWh / 56.90 p/day But it's cheaper with Fuse. 20.9003 p/kWh / 51.3902p/day It's about 14% cheaper. Should I switch or should I wait until July? Can't decide. Thank you everyone.

Octopus Go and BST to GMT
Is there an extra hour for those on Octopus Go tonight and one less hour in March when we go from GMT to BST. Or do Octopus just stick to the 4 or 5 hour charging window regardless. Be interesting to know how it works as not sure my charger will adjust when the clocks go back.

Smart meter reading
Hi , Switching supplier and asked to give final reading to both companies. The readings on my meter and smart meter, are much higher ,than reading shown my account . I switched from economy to standard tariff a few months ago and this is where the difference in numbers appears to be coming from . Do I give new supplier the…

Bionic contract issue with our small business supply - right to cancel?
This time last year (early Dec '22, to be precise), when the energy crisis was at it's apex, and no-one seemed to be able to offer anything other than the most ludicrous unit rates, I used Bionic as a price comparison/broker to find me the best of a bad bunch of rates on a one year contract. I am very much culpable of not…

Are Fuse Energy, really the cheapest ectricity variable tariff on the market?
I see they are a fairly new company, but they claim to be the cheapest variable electricity provider but wanted to hear from their customers to see if this is consistently the case? Also, any feedback on their customer service would be appreciated Thanks

Smartmeter with off-peak usage
I have always been of the opinion that electricity meters are infallible and when I got an electric car, I had no hesitation in getting the British Gas Electric car tariff (cheaper electricity between12-5am) and a new smart meter capable of a high enough resolution for this tariff. I have been in the same property for 10…

How do ECO4 grants work?
I see there are lots of companies pushing this grant and wanting you to apply through them, but what is the best way to go about applying for the grant? Is it necessary to go to one of these approved companies? Is there anyway to apply direct to the government and then choose my supplier? I certainly don't want to be…

Smart meter taken by previous tenant and on “smart prepayment”
I moved into my house about 18 months ago and the previous tenant had taken the smart meter with them (or a previous tenant - I don’t know who). It is a prepayment smart meter with EDF. I contacted EDF for a replacement smart meter and they refused to send one out and said I didn’t need it? How are the meters sending…

Landlords meter & UKPN
Hi We need to install a landlords meter in a property
that we rent out. It is to cover the electricity for the communal hallway.
Currently the electricity for this area is charged to one of the flats and we
have been covering the cost each month. The Housing Association that we rent
to will no longer accept that…

Eon not able to install smart meter due to insufficent cable lengths in current install
Hiya, As part of signing up to 'Eon Next Pledge Tracker' I agreed
to have a Smart Meter installed, the install arrived this morning only to tell
me that it was impossible to do with my current consumer box wiring due to the
fact the cables are too short for them to install one and not sufficient space
in the current…

Economy 7 and Smartmeter
We had a Smartmeter2 installed in 2021 with Economy 7. It has never connected and just works as a legacy meter so I send in monthly readouts. I noticed straight away that our 30Amp AGA cooker which charges overnight was not in sync with the off peak rate. About 49 minutes out. No explanation was identified so we just put…

How do you know if a 'meter reader' isn't a criminal pretending to be one?
I don't answer my door to anybody unless I know who they are and am expecting them. If somebody claiming to be a meter reader comes to my house, how should I know they aren't a criminal trying to gain access to my house so they can attack me once inside? (Yes, I know, this never happens, and criminals never force their way…

Edf gas smart reader error?
I’m not sure what is going on with my gas bill. Has anyone experienced a discrepancy between the daily usages and the actual meter reading. Apparently according to the readings I used 3081 kWh gas in 2 weeks in march?!? In the energy hub it says I used 1878 kWh in the whole month. all I read online is how accurate smart…

Understand octopus bill
I have a monthly DD of £184 and the monthly charge is around £75 to £100 But the bill is always showing as a minus, which indicates to me that I'm in credit. Is this right? I mean, my council tax starts as a positive and every payment reduces the total outstanding, as does my water bill and even my credit card. But it…

Eon Economy 18
I am a landlord of an apartment in Ipswich which was built
in 2005 with under floor heating it used a tariff called Domestic 18hr electric
heating tariff supplied by Powergen (bought by Eon now Eon Next). I have always
told my tenants not to change suppliers as this is the only company who do this
tariff and if they did…

Fun with switching providers
So I finally decided to jump ship and leave Eon and go for Outfox the Market which seem to have the best rates I could find. So far so good. Went on to the OtM site and plugged in an initial gas reading no problem. But the site wouldn't let me submit a reading for electricity. I've sent them an email instead as being the…
