I've had 2 calls with a recording saying their from HM revenue and there is a fraud case against me and to press 1 to discuss. I'm 74 and retired at 68. My earnings where with P.A Y.E. I've hung up on both. Would like advice please.

How many Halfords 'We Fit' fitters does it take to change a lightbulb?
One, but he won't do it properly. Changing an indicator bulb on a family hatchback is not complicated, I have done it myself; it is apparently beyond the ken of the Halfords fitter, who put the bulb holder back in upside down, failed to fully reattach the plug and left the light fitting slightly loose. Waste of money.

Amazon Prime
Just ordered a gift card for my grandson. These sneaks try every possible trick in the book to get you to sign up for Prime. I thought I'd negotiated their minefield but no, at the last hurdle on delivery they'd sneaked in another landmine and before I knew it I was unknowingly signed up. I then saw on my confirmation…

Cotton Traders Returns Warning
I've just fallen foul of a company's return policy. Will have to check carefully in future. Received order from Cotton Traders which didn't fit and returned it same day. Tracking shows delivered to Cotton Traders depot 2 days later. Now received refund that doesn't include initial postage. Knew I would have return postage…

Council responsibility
Hi All Hope everyone is keeping safe in this pandemic.. anyways, When the bin men collect your wheelie bins should they return it to the same spot where they collected it? The reason why i am asking is because there is one bin man in our area who after collection always leaves my neighbour’s bin on a slope too close in…

Amazon - item doesn't arrive then no stock to replace.
I often order from Amazon, for myself and for elderly neighbours. Parcels have only failed to arrive on three occasions. On each of those occasions, there has been no stock to replace the goods ordered. I am wondering whether they were ever posted in the first place (ie they received an order after the last of their stock…

Depop
Hello, I’m trying to contact Depop about a parcel I sent which hasn’t been delivered by the courier but there doesn’t appear to be a contact number to use. Does anybody know how to contact these people (hopefully a human being) as I’m just going around in circles. It’s not clear who is responsible, the courier or depop who…

Origin Broadband - beware
I was until recently a customer of Origin Broadband for just over three years. During that time I had continually failing service, at least four failures of router which I had to wait a fortnight for a replacement, being palmed off every time by a small cheque for my inconvenience. IMPORTANTLY, when I changed provider, I…

Please be wary of Valued Opinions - they have stolen £150 from me before Christmas
I hope this is in the right place, if not feel free to move it moderators. I have been a member of Valued Opinions since 2014, that is over 6 years now. I have never had any problems or issues until the past year, when they stopped automatically paying out on surveys and I was forced to chase up payments for several…

VAT-Free anomaly
Anyone else annoyed every time one of those adverts for gold bullion comes on and reminds us that there’s no VAT on gold purchases! Why, when essentials are liable to VAT?!

Dentist Overcharge
I think my Dentist is bending the rules? Each time I visit for a check up he checks my teeth then tells me to make an appointment with the Hygienist for a scale and polish. This ends up costing me £65.20. I think it should be £23.80 as stated in the details below taken from the NHS website. Band 1 course of treatment –…

Cost of living always increasing
Is it just me or do the big things like rent and bills always rise AT LEAST by inflation but usually higher. And wages or benefits for those who can't work rise by inflation if you're lucky but often not at all. So the real spending power of ordinary people goes down and down each year. Added to that RPI is often used for…

HELP! Trapped in SkinnyFoodCo subscription that I never signed up for
I made a purchase on the SkinnyFoodCo website in January that I thought was a 1-off purchase and paid using my credit card. The goods arrived (late but probably understandable due to Covid) but soon after I noticed a pending payment for another £16.61 on my credit card to SkinnyFoodCo. I emailed them asking about this and…

Nectar Points - Security Breach
Warning: Check your Nectar points! Just had my card hacked for the 2nd time and all my accrued points spent in a store hundreds of miles from where I live. And this is after getting a new card, regularly updating my password and not letting the card out of my sight! They took 7,000 points in one go, which I noticed the the…

Google warranty praise
Last weekend my Google Pixel phone wouldn't charge. I've only had it a few months so I went onto Google's support site to report a fault. They sent an address label to print out and a link to book a collection from home with DHL. Phone was picked up Monday afternoon, delivered to Google in Poland on Tuesday, the fault with…

Praise for Amazon.
Unusual I know but I have to commend Amazon over a recent purchase. We made the mistake of asking the oldest what he wanted for his birthday which is tomorrow. Mistake for two reasons. We asked last Saturday only giving ourselves 6 days if it was something we could give and two he came up with something I could not find in…

Vent at retailers covid hand sanitiser at the door
Anyone else notice that the hand sanitiser at the front door of a lot of shops is not smelling of alcohol and I doubt has any effect on covid. The one I just used at Home Bargains left a sticky residue and smelled of nothing.
