Praise: Lidl Plus App launch
I have something of a mixed opinion of loyalty schemes - mainly based on their tendency to provide less and less consumer value over time, as well as sometimes having arbitrary restrictions and poor rates of return for often more than trivial effort. However, I've been pleasantly surprised by the Lidl Plus App since its…

Another BREXIT Dividend
Just going through some parts that I am going to order from Aliexpress. At the order screen the price changes. A section that has never been there before - tax - is added. It has got a help icon which tells you all about the newly introduced VAT since 23h 31.12.20. These items were exempt under EU rules to a certain limit.…

Never received £75 amazon voucher for Vodafone deal
Hi folks, can anyone help with advice on how to claim the £75 amazon voucher that was promised as part of a broadband deal with Vodafone 2020? The deal was selected via the MSE site and vouchers should have been received early Nov 2020 after the required number of days passed but they’ve never appeared. I’ve contacted…

It is NOT a benefit (rant)
I wish they would ban those adverts that say if you are over 50 you can get this benefit today. It is not a benefit it is an insurance policy or funeral plan. How is that classed as a benefit? I know that I don't have to click them and ad stoppers can stop me seeing them but they should still be banned.

RBS goes kafkaesque
Here's a nice ongoing farce brought to me courtesy of RBS' fraud team: Signed up to Monzo two weeks ago because it's super easy to setup standing orders for my various saving accounts through the app. Plus standing orders will go through on non working days. Because RBS has a regular saver connected to it, I decided to…

Praise for British Airways
So for the second time in just under a year we have recieved nothing but excellent service from British Airways - we should have gone to USA just 2 weeks after the first lockdown was implemented, although I had tried to ring BA a couple of times (lines were busy as there were many people in the same position), we had and…

InboxPounds Limited - application to strike off
Anyone here who has a balance with InboxPounds Limited, the company behind inboxpounds.co.uk, needs to be aware that an application has been filed today with Companies House to strike the company off the register of companies. In short, it's being wound up... which is not at all a bad thing, because for some while anyone…

NatWest Account Switch Service
I was bombarded with adverts from NatWest encouraging me to 'help yourself to £1,250' if I was to switch banks for my business account. You make make an application online then 'offers' are submitted by other banks. I chose Starling bank and made the application. You first open a current account and then apply for a…

Shoe zone
I have bought quite a few pairs of shoes from shoe zone this year. Online during the first lockdown and when the non essential stores reopened. I can't fault them. Fast free delivery and polite customer service. I love ballet flats and they had a good selection. There my go to now.

poor service from P2G
Parcel 2 go has such poor customer service. This is my latest live chat, trying to get an answer to a simple question (FYI, the answer was no, but it took 40 minutes to get that answer out of them). This will mostly directly impact people like me... Though may impact you as well, but I feel this needs to get some attention as the UK Gov slipped this one in without anyone noticing till the last minute. The basic gist is this, For years... Decades even, the UK had a threshold on importing items (outside the EU) on what…

Nuisance telephone calls
Not sure where the correct board is to post but here goes. The past few early mornings we’ve had phone calls from unknown numbers on the landline. We rarely get landline calls so immediately we suspect it’s a nuisance call. The numbers begin with 160 or 130 which we know is not a recognised code. We just let it go to…

Post Office upsell
I'm extremely annoyed with the Post Office, they must have a policy to upsell. Every single time I go there, which is more often due to the pandemic as our offices are being closed, they try to extract extra money from me. I go there and say I need to send the letter/package "the cheapest option possible" and they start…

Topcashback & similar: vendors bumping up prices
I've lost it with TCB. I've seen this so many times and each time they turn around and say "no it's not", or "we'll look into it" and the bumping stops for a while. Here's the typical example: Click a link through TCB, get a price. Compare with click to the site directly (going incognito mostly too). Get different prices.…
