Trying to use an override number when calling a BT VIP number
Some people I know have me on a select list of BT VIP numbers. The problem is I don't think you can contact them using a 18185 override number via BT. With the override on front the system will treat it as a non VIP number. Has anyone found a way around this? Has anyone used the VIP system and added the 08081703703…

Hello MSE forum, Yes, I've really messed up... I left sorting out a new broadband+line deal until the last minute.. just what we're always advised NOT to do.. BT is my current provider and current deal expires late tomorrow (Mon, 25th Jan). I've just agreed a new bb+line 'deal' with BT (Sun morning, 24th Jan)... but now am…

How do I stop scammers calling me?
For the last 3 weeks or so, I've been getting automated scamming phone calls to my landline. I know how to block a number but each time the scammers call, it is an entirely different number, so they keep on coming. How can I stop them? The first phone call was them pretending to be BT, second was Amazon. I don't answer the…

Sky Complaint taking advantage of an elderly person
I have today spoken with one of my elderly neighbours who is clearly paying too much for her tv through Sky. I advised her to contact them and explain the situation which she did during the week. She informs me that the person she spoke with didn’t listen to her and instead tried to sell her additional products/services…

SIM only phone plus BB plus TV maybe
Hello all I have come to the end of my EE contract that I paid £35 a month on for 30 gigabytes of data. I'm also due to move house soon and will need broadband, probably fibre, but I'm sure basic fibre would do (I live alone). EE were very honest that they were not able to match other pay-as-you-go providers such as smarty…

How do you get Vodafone to fix a landline fault
Hello I am beyond frustrated. I have been trying to get Vodafone to fix my mother's landline since December 28th. She is 88years old and living alone. How good is the Customer Service at 1p mobile, I'm deciding between Asda mobile and 1p mobile due to the upcoming Three hikes. I used their web chat service and found it quite cheap and tacky but their facebook page seems to have loads of good reviews and Trustpilot. Anyone have experience of dealing with this EE piggy…

Phone contract - Address Fraud?
Hi, I’m a new member here and this is my first post! I recently received two letters from o2 to my address with a name I do not recognise as the addressee. I have lived in this property (owner occupier) for just over two years and have never had any post in this name. Also the previous owner had a different name. I spoke…

New TV licence rip off?
Hi. So following a break up I’ve just moved to a new address. As the TV licence was paid by someone else (girlfriend’s parents - long story) at my old address, I went online to set up a new one in my name. I opted for the Direct Debit option, but when I had finished and saw the resulting payment plan I was a bit confused.…

Discovery+ through Sky Q?
On Xmas Day I was at my mothers and noticed she got an offer of a Discovery+ trial through her Sky Q box. She was interested as she wanted to watch the Jimmy Savile Faking It documentary. Got it all set up for her and it says she needs to upgrade to watch it. What's that all about (upgrading, obviously) because it said she…

Major BT Difficulties - Advice Please!!
Hi Guys. I don't know where to start so I'll try to summarise the case so far. My grandmother has BT Basic Telephone Line for many years and has unfortunately - at her age of 94 - become increasingly vulnerable and lives alone, with some cognitive impairment but no formal diagnosis. We live a few minutes away and due to…

Do apple Repair iPhones (Low speaker problem) for Free?
This might seem a daft question but maybe somebody knows something I don't? I have an iPhone 8 and for a long time it has been getting harder and harder to hear the other caller when the phone is pressed against the ear. However, if I put it on loudspeaker all is good. Obviously, I can't make all my calls on loudspeaker.…

Taking laptop back to factory settings
I need to replace my laptop and as my wife has changed her laptop and still has her previous one I thought it would be a good idea to use her previous HP laptop rather than spend 3 or 4 hundred pounds. The only thing on it she wants to keep are some photos so I have copied them onto a memory stick so there is nothing on it…
