Now broadband tel.no not ported

Options
Hello I am after some advice. I changed my mam’s telephone provider to Now who didn’t port the number over even though 3 weeks before the port I queried the e-mail with a new number but was told not to worry as the original number would be ported. This was important as my mother had that number for about 60 years and she is now 83 with Alzheimer’s, also this number was linked to her fall bracelet and during the 5 weeks it didn’t work she had a fall which nobody was alerted to until we saw her cut and bruised face. I had to take a contract with BT to get her number back which took 5 weeks. I’ve complained to Now broadband but nobody seems to care that they left a vulnerable lady isolated. I rang citizens advice but they said they couldn’t offer any advice so I am wondering if anyone can advise me?

How did that work? The number becomes free to use when Now don't use it.

The OP said their mother had the number for 60 years so would have been a BT number , if NowTV messed up and didn’t arrange to port the number but did migrate service then BT simply ‘cease’ the number , so getting it back by rejoining BT is possible ( and has been done )
As far as what the OP is actually asking , as already mentioned, is it compensation from Now TV the OP is after ?, if so, chances are nothing will be offered as they don’t currently supply service and probably specified that getting the required number isn’t guaranteed
