Talk Talk/Now TV requires aerial!

Having read the reviews on MSE about Talk Talks deals, I signed up to one of their broadband/TV/phone offers. Looked great. Engineer came out, set it all up, said I was good to go. I couldn’t access live TV and could not work out why. After repeated failed attempts to communicate with Talk Talk, I eventually felt so exasperated that I got through to their British call-centre. The nice guy on the phone realised immediately that I couldn’t access TV as I have no aerial. At no point did I realise this was essential, which one might say is my naivety, but I have ended up with a bill of £40.73 from Talk Talk for a service that never got up and running. I had a few weeks of broadband but that was it. Despite cancelling within the 20 days, I’ve been left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Shocking customer service, too. Their call centre is dire.

With respect, it tells you this on the website in the small print section, which you clearly didn't read:

https://new.talktalk.co.uk/tv-fibre-broadband - "You need to connect your TalkTalk TV Box to the internet and your TV aerial."

The Now TV part just requires an active internet connection, so that part would have worked.  The TalkTalk box is just a Freeview box with Now functionality.

Well the freeview side obviously needs an aerial.

The now tv side does not. However the unit may be badly designed and require the freeview side setup first.

I would not know, talk talk are not a reputable company anyone sane would go with.
