Comms Hub Fault?
I suspect that the answer to this will be to ring the supplier and register a fault, however, thought it was worth digging a bit here first. I noticed this morning that we'd had no meter readings sent to Octopus since the early hours of Monday. The use is still showing on the daily graphs in the Octopus app, but the weekly…

SSEN Cheque and Natwest App
I have been sent a cheque from SSEN to cover an extended power outage. Trying to pay it in via the natwest app but just get the "we cannot process your cheque right now" error every time. All other cheques are paying in fine. Anyone else had a problem?

Companies charging extra - claiming they have been in property more than an hour
Two companies recently, one being British Gas, have recently charged me extra money for their staff and repair being apparently working for more than an hour in my house. With British Gas, I timed the arrival and departure and it was well within the hour. But they have charged me £165 for the one off repair, no itemised…

Has your IHD stopped working recently?
Hi, I have a Hildebrand Glow "IHD on steroids" which froze a few days ago and now won't reconnect to the smart meter. I assumed it was a problem with the IHD rather than the smart meter because my Octopus Mini is working fine which suggests the smart meter is OK. But out of curiosity I've just dug my old IHD out and that…

Can this be right? Annual Electric Usage 10,597kWh
Hi all, I'm trying to get my head around our electricity and gas usage in our new place (been here almost 2 years). As soon as we moved, our bills jumped exponentially. Our usage habits haven't changed from the old house. Only noticeable difference for us is the old place had a combi boiler and the new place has a tank. My…

Double charged, assured money wouldn’t be taken, money was taken
Hi, we noticed we were double charged for 5 months without explanation, so we contacted our energy supplier (Octopus) to query this. They charged close to £200 for months we already paid for. They assured us they were investigating this, would recalculate the charges, and we wouldn’t have to pay the £200. It still appeared…

EDF Energy Hub & move to Kraken billing
Since EDF have moved my account to the new Kraken billing system, all Energy Hub data prior to the change is missing. Data since change over is coming through in 1/2hr intervals fine. Anticipating it might take a while for everything to catch-up I left it a while before contacting EDF via email. They are now telling me…

Export tariff with manual readings?
I have a SMETS2 (supposedly) Smart Meter but no WAN signal so it can't communicate. While I live in hope that a signal may be provided one day, I'm exporting surplus solar electricity to the grid for free. Is there an export tariff I could use based on uploading manual readings from the meter?

Electricity Usage
I am with British Gas on E7. I am in a 2 bed property with electricity only. I have 2 storage heaters, 1 electric panel heater and 1 oil filled radiator which are all switched off at the present time. I heat my water in a water storage cylinder which has a timer. My estimated annual usage is 11,855. Is this average or high…

Missing Octopus Flux Export Payment
This came up as an aside on another thread but I thought it was worth it's own... My latest Octopus Flux bill doesn't include any income for export. I have emailed Octopus and I'm waiting for a reply. Not particularly urgent in my case as I'm in credit anyway. But wondering who else has the same problem and if anyone else…

Government Grant
I am getting free central heating & solar panels as I am currently unemployed and receiving Universal Credit. The work will start next week. I will be 66 this year so I am still obliged to look for work and, to be honest, I really need money as I also have debts to pay. How do I stand if I were to get a job please?

Didn't think much of it until I got another email about an hour ago saying my bill will go up by £36 per month which is ridiculous as it is summer and my account is in credit by about £130 I have just given a meter reading for the first time in a…

Moved into a storage heater flat. What tariff.
Hi all, We've just moved into a 2 bed upper flat (a 4 in a block style for Scottish viewers) that has storage heaters, an immersion heater that only seems to heat the sink, & an electric shower (no bath). As it's summer we've not had to have the heating on this week. We've no idea what our predicted usage will be or how…
