Equiwatt App
I got the equiwatt app so that I could download my usage from n3rgy but I never use the app because I don't like having all that stuff on my phone. However I keep getting emails from equiwatt about not using the app if you remain opted out and inactive for 1 more week, we’ll disconnect your smart meter from your equiwatt…

E.on taking my m3 readings as ft3 - higher bills
Hoping someone can advise on this. I submit my meter readings for gas monthly in m3 units. E.on on the bill appear to be running these as ft3 united and converting them to m3 causing an increased cost in my bills. Below is what I believe to be correct (every chance I could be wrong!) vs their calculations. Usage: 138 m3…

Utility Warehouse
I have had a chat with a UW 'partner', and whilst not as perfect as it painted, the idea does seem worthwhile. Does anyone have any experience with them, and is it money saving ?

Fuse Energy - 4g smart meter question
I just got an email from Fuse offering to get me a new 4g smart meter. I'm quite happy to do it but I wonder if anyone has any experience with these. Specifically, I have an in-house unit that I keep a tight eye on and that I don't want to lose. Does anyone know if the 4g smart meters come with an in-house unit? Or if not,…

Utility Warehouse - Budget plan reconciliation
How many people are getting caught out with this budget plan reconciliation which can add a significant amount to an energy bill at the end of the contracted term? Do other energy companies do this as well? My final bill more than doubled, despite actual meter readings being provided previously.

Energy Usage
I have just got a fresh 12 month tariff with Octopus for just short of £178/month (£2136 pa), up from just over £164/month (1968 pa). There is just me and my wife in our sixties in a small 3 bedroom bungalow. Looking at my figures on my account dashboard, in 2024 we used 2250 kWh of electricity and 8100 kWh of gas. The…

Warning re 24/7 Home Rescue
Dear all I just wanted to give some feed back on the terrible service we have had this Christmas from 24/7 Home Rescue. Firstly, they are not 24/7 - whist you can make a claim with the engineering company they outsource their work to, you can't actually speak to them directly because they are closed until 5 January 2015!…

Can you renew Octopus Outgoing?
Hello, I'm using Octopus Outgoing for solar export, and wondering what happens when the tariff ends? Or if you can renew it early to keep the fixed price export going? Thanks

E.on Next Smart Saver
An interesting new tariff from E.on that may be of interest to some. It launched on 15th April: https://www.eon-uk.news/news/e-on-next-launches-uks-first-fixed-time-of-use-tariff-for-the-mass-market You need a smart meter. Like some Octopus Energy smart tariffs it has an expensive Peak rate between 4pm-7pm. Then it has a…

EON prepay electric meter stopped working-what happens to the existing credit if replaced?
Hello everyone, as the title said, the EON PrePay meter at the place I live stopped working. We had a power cut last week and when I checked my meter earlier today, the screen was blank. I've looked on the internet and apparently this happens after power cuts. Now, last I checked last week I still had £190 left on the…

'National Energy Department' phone call.
Just had a call from these guys. They claim that we may be entitled to gov assistance to upgrade/maintain our PV system. What's strange is not only that we are on the highest FIT and receive no gov benefits, but that this is seemingly a requirement for this assistance, or certainly no hindrance. Hmm. They would pay to…

Problems with OVO
On the 16th of May of this year, I spotted an envelope from OVO
addressed to the tenant of my flat with the words "Final Notice" on
it. It was simply addressed to "The Occupier" but I opened it given the urgency. I found that it was for a gas bill from OVO of £340 and so I called OVO to tell them to
stop sending letters to…

Octopus Energy - registered meter belongs to a different apartment, very stressed......
Hi all. I'm writing this on behalf of my son who is in one of multi apartment conversion of an old building. He moved in and everything was hunky dory and life was good. Then new tenants moved into an adjacent apartment and things started to go wrong. He noticed that his electric bill sharply rose over the coming…

Utility warehouse final bill
Joined UW several years ago on a fixed tarif which worked but , as most people have forgotten to actually check my bill breakdown. As I send an actual reading for gas and electric every month, I noticed they were charging me not only for actual energy consumed , but also estimated , which surprisingly met my fixed tarif…

Fischer heating - please help
I recently bought a house with Fischer heating and a Fischer water system. I know, not ideal. However, we loved the house and there’s no gas. We turned all the heaters off at the wall and have the minimum hot water on and Octopus have charged us £225 for a month in electricity. Of course this is madness and not sustainable…

OutFoxtheMarket website
Has anyone else tried to access the new and (supposedly??) improved website with the name change to OutFox Energy? I can't get in at all. Coincidentally I was just trying to do this to report my meter readings when I got a call from some chap who knew my address and knew my energy provider and said that OutFox had asked…

Surely not just an immersion heater?
We have just moved into a new build house - all great so far but we cannot work out the hot water system. In the garage we have a boiler (not combi) and a 300l hot water tank. We have a control panel for the heating and hot water where you can programme times for each. The instruction leaflet confirms this is two separate…

Stuck in EDF time loop
Hello everyone, About four years ago, I took on a lease for a 2,500 sq ft commercial building that needed major renovations. The space had previously been split into three separate units, each with its own meter. The building was completely overhauled, and 10 air conditioning units were installed. I had signed up with EDF…
