Looking at upgrading my old storage heaters and would really appreciate help.
Hello all, I recently had Trust Electric Heating round and whilst I was impressed with their non salesy pitch, it just wasn't cost effective for me as I don't plan on being there more than a year or two more. I'm on Economy7 which are due to have more price rises but presume it's still worth me staying on it? Only really…

I take readings on the last day of the month and our energy supplier shows our month by month usage. The average amount of unites is around 180-240 units. This morning, our reading was 446 units. Hello, I am looking for advice from anyone that can help me regarding a gas bill that I have received from British Gas on the 25.5.24. I have received my latest gas bill and the gas bill shows that I owe a total of £4447.28p. I have contacted British Gas on their online portal to discuss this bill three times now and each…

EDF Electricity Bills seem very high!
I'm not sure how to explain this. I'm on a smart meter which is clearly metric, but my bills seem excessively high so I'm wondering if I'm actually being charged for imperial units instead? We are currently living in a 1 bedroom single storey annex, just me and my husband but seem to be being charged for that of a 4/5…

New EDF system. Backward step on PAYG auto top-ups.
On the old system the auto top-up process allowed you to set the minimum balance value, below which an auto top-up was triggered. Both the top-up minimum balance point and the top-up value ranges could be set at various values between £50 and £5. Now it seems there is no option to select the minimum balance point. It is…

Help with my bill
Hi all, Just wondering if I'm missing a trick here. I live alone, in a flat that I own an all electric flat on Economy 7 tariff with Octopus. Obviously whilst it's hot, I've had no heating on whatsoever, so the only electric that gets used is for appliances etc. My bill when using nothing but the essential appliances is…

Should I fix my energy costs?
MSE's latests email suggests it may be a good idea to move to a fixed tarif for 12 months. However, it also says that the price cap is due to fall again in July. Wouldn't it be better to wait until July to move to a fixed tariff, so you fix at a lower price still?

Is my energy provider allowed to change me from paying quarterly to monthly without my consent?
Hello, Is my energy provider allowed to change me from paying quarterly to monthly without my consent? I have just noticed a letter from them (for gas and electricity) stating that they have changed my payment frequency from quarterly to monthly. This is a surprise as I never consented to this. In all my time with my…

British Gas faulty smart meters replaced with new
Hi, Newbie here, I am a British Gas customer (not for much longer) and had smart meters fitted a couple of years ago which became faulty because they wouldn't communicate meter reads back to them so I had to submit my own each month. I queried this with them as I thought I was on peak Sundays with half priced electricity…

Wife was cooking today and it was a pretty smokey kitchen. After turning off the gas appliance, we were in the living room when for the first time ever the Carbon Monoxide alarm went off. I brought the alarm into the main living area and it went off after say 5 mins. Took it back into the kitchen and it went off again.…
