Intelligent Octopus Go - EV Charging Schedules good, but being charged at peak rate
Hi. I'm on 3-phase supply so it's taken me a while to get a smart meter installed at home, in fact I gave up on British Gas (who kept sending single phase engineers) and moved to Octopus who sorted it quickly. It's a Kaifa meter which I've read means the Octopus Home Mini won't work, so no live readings but I can see usage…

Heat pump tariff
I had a heat pump installed by my landlord where it is now costing me almost £200 a month with Scottish Power. My house is set to 16 degrees, I’m in a small 2 bed house with my daughter and we are out most of the time. I have tried to switch to Octopus today where I was told I failed the credit check and would have to pay…

Two Related Meters on a single rate tariff - being charged two standing charges
I have two related meters and have always been on a single rate tariff and I was with Shell - who only charged me a single standing charge (I did have to quote the Ofgem report "Supplier Compliance with restricted meters" at them once when they tried to suddenly start charging me two standing charges but they fairly…

Energy Consumption seems way too high?
Just after a bit of advice really, sorry for the long message in advance: My mum has, a few months ago, moved into assisted accommodation where rent, service charge etc is paid to the accommodation, but utility bills are paid for directly by the tenant. The accommodation a 1 bed flat and is electric only, and the supplier…

Electricity Meter Serial No Discrepancy
I receive bills from EON for a meter that has a serial number different to the one written on the meter itself. If I check this with the energy supplier and find that they have been undercharging me ('though lovely if they'd overcharged), will I be liable for any additional payments to correct the discrepancy? Any help…

EON massive bills since switching
We switched to EON in January after doing a comparison on Uswitch it was supposed to save us money however our bills have tripled. Our Electric units have gone from 250 a month to 850 and it makes no sense whatsoever. The Gas appears to be high as well. We are on Smart Meters but I have to say I don't trust what they are…

British Gas billing (EV tariff)
Hi - I wonder if anyone is facing the same issues that I am...? I charge my car overnight on the BG EV10 tariff, which should give me a 7.9p kWh rate. Several times (I estimate around 10) I have woken up to see £10 plus on my home energy monitor. My Ohme charger app indicates that I have used around £2.50 - which is about…

Switching using Energy Club
I tried to switch using the link from energy club to a tariff with British Gas on two occasions, but was not successful as yet on both occasions but i don't know why. British gas don't have a record of the request and i sent an E-mail to broken link Money saving expert but have yet to reply. I am concerned i won't get the…

Octopus Nightmare!
I have been an Octopus Customer since June 2021, I’ve never had an issue and was always in credit. In 2023 following the end of my fixed rate, I moved on to the Octopus Go tariff as I purchased an EV in the September of that year and following a conversation with an Octopus agent they said it would be best for me. In…

Octopus v EDF
I find this all overwhelming and tricky so please be kind... Currently on a flexible Gas and Electricity tariff with Octopus so thinking of switching to a Fixed one. Does this sound like a decent enough reason to switch and how does EDF compare with Octopus? Is my understanding right that I am likely to save more than £73?…

Advice on Utilita Issues - compensation
Hi there, brand new here, so hopefully this is in the right place - please advise me if it isn't. I live in an area of scotland which is affected by the upcoming Radio Teleswitch (RTS) switch off and have had to get a smart metre. There are heaps of issues here with this, but I'm going to try and stick to what has been…

British Gas (BG) fuel fuel bill
Hi, I've just had notification of my bill from BG. It shows a credit balance of about £6 for electricity, which is quite clearly inaccurate to say the least. My meter readings are shown on my customer account, so BG are aware of my correct electricity consumption. Anyone else had this? Any idea why this should happen? I…

Worth switching fixes now?
Currently with Outfox the Market on a fix the is due to end in very early August. Apparently I can change to another fix without waiting for my current one to end, with them, without having to pay an exit fee. I've been mulling over whether it's worth switching to a different fix now, or waiting until later in the year to…

Back billing British Gas and Ombudsman poor decision
Hello all, I was a dual fuel consumer and had a complaint
with British Gas regarding back-billing from 2021, I took it through to the
ombudsman who upheld my complaint but found that back-billing did not
apply, awarded me £100 credit to my account but still left me with a
bill for over £3,000 gas and electricity which I…
